So I somehow came across God Help The Girl tonight, which (inevitably) led to some Wikipedia searching, and the term chamber pop came up. I looked up, and it is compared to progressive rock as well. However, it is not exactly clearly defined, though it certainly hints at using classical music techniques in rock/pop songs, such as using instruments not typically found in pop music (horns, flute, etc.).

From what I can glean from the tag pages on here, it would seem that baroque pop is the same idea as chamber pop but older music (but then on here you have Andrew Bird, a fairly modern artist I would say, tagged with Baroque).

If anyone is reading this, have you heard of either of these before? Are they legit? It seems like Belle and Sebastian comes up more than any other artist when looking around...

It would certainly be interesting if this is a real thing; I have seemed to accumulate a lot of music that has more classical instruments but at the same time remaining somewhat indie/pop? It's weird to think that this whole genre existed without anyone really knowing about it though. Just some thoughts.
