I'm still rockin' this. And okay, so got the Vosotros situation twisted last week. vosotros is the label/production team; their collaboration project with Sam Barsh is The Years; and the album is vosotros presents: The Years (not to be confused with their similarly-named Mixtape). Got it? Good. You did get it, right?

One of my favorite genres is something I call nu brazila; bossa/samba with flecks of electronic, soul, etc. Sabrina Malheiros handles the job beautifully on the re-issued New Morning (I have the Deluxe version). Her soothing vocals elevate the jazz for a romantic combination. Fans of Bebel Gilberto or CéU should embrace this easily.

N'Dambi has been on the low for awhile. But she's back with a new album, Pink Elephant. I'm not in love with the entire album. But about half of it get me to rewind including, L.I.E., Nobody Jones, The Wold Is A Beat, and delicious, lead single, Can't Hardly Wait.

Me'Shell NdegéOcello's odd live performance behavior these past few years have cooled me on her latest offerings. Sadly, Devil's Halo isn't doing much to win me back. It's is a collection of ... well, I'm not sure. Firstly, I don't like the way it was produced. Most songs are less than three minutes long which isn't necessarily a bad thing. But they feel unfinished. Genre-wise, Devil's Halo is all over the place; rock, meditative, funk, folk, soul. It just feels like a half-realized demo to me. I do like Lola (which is too short), White Girl and her cover of Ready for the World's Love You Down.

Cansei de grandes coleções, grandes discografias. CANSEI.

É uma frustração total já que eu não me encontro mais no Itunes. Fico meia hora pra encontrar alguma coisa que combine com o meu humor, e nem os gêneros funcionam mais, a lista é enorme. O pior é ter tudo isso e achar que não tem... nada. E não faz sentido gravar tudo em DVD se eu preciso das músicas no computador.

É tanta coisa que já faz 2 meses que não escuto Cazuza. Chico Buarque? 1 mês. É por isso que ter fases é ruim, quando você vê, todas as músicas tão jogadas e mofadas no fundo da pasta. Não vale nem a pena falar quanto tempo eu não escuto Bebel Gilberto, Nara Leão, Rita Lee, Elis Regina, e Miúcha. Junte isso à falta de tempo e reflita.

Julho muita coisa vai pra lixeira. E vou investir mais na Pasta Temporária.

Uma análise curta. Bebel Gilberto é minha nova paixão. Não paixão mor, como Maria Rita, mas de alguma maneira avassaladora. Veja bem, eu sou apaixonada por Bossa Nova, mas esse tecno, esse eletrônico que ela põe no meio poderia ter me feito odiar tudo e quase fez. Nesse caso, aquela história de amor e ódio andam juntos, um oposto do outro, sei lá ô quê, se encaixa.

Porque provavelmente se outra pessoa cantasse desse jeito pra mim eu daria um soco na cara, ela dá uma enrolação na música muito forte. Não é uma coisa limpa, pra fora. É música pra dormir. Se você pegar 'Águas de Março' na voz dela, verás então que essa sim é a voz dela e essa seria a maneira correta de se cantar, até porque não dá pra frufruzar muito uma música como essa, porque se não perde a graça.

Talvez esse seja o charme dela, porque faz uns meses que eu me apaixonei por algumas músicas, mas agora tou escutando bastante, curtindo mesmo. Isso é estranho. Conclusão: sou apaixonada pela Bebel e quero ir num show dela agora.
