A wrong note on purpose? Like an easter egg? Maybe they should have listened to the record one time or two before release it. If by "on purpose" you mean "for aesthetic reasons" then you should listen to it again. It doesn't sound like aesthetic dissonance (as Sonic Youth does), it sounds like a wrong note. Why? Listen to the context.
