Fazia tempo que eu não gostava de um disco por inteiro. Isto voltou a acontecer recentemente quando ouvi o Kiss & Tell (onde comprar?), álbum de estréia do grupo Selena Gomez & The Scene.

Selena Gomez faz parte do time de cantores teen "fabricados" pela Disney, onde é uma das menos notadas. A única de suas músicas que realmente virou um hit foi Tell Me Something I Don't Know, trilha do filme Another Cinderella Story e que ganhou uma versão madura, por assim dizer, deixando a música menos sintetizada, menos pop, menos teen, e ficou ótima.

Agora, com este disco pop-rock-dance, junto com a banda The Scene, a feiticeira de Wevely Place finalmente mostrou sua magia. O disco é realmente muito bem produzido, ao estilo de Avril Lavigne e Miley Cyrus, mas ela ainda se revela insegura, "Sou nova e ainda estou descobrindo onde eu quero estar musicalmente. Mas acho que este é um bom começo... espero". Um ótimo começo!

Apesar de todas as canções falarem sobre relações amorosas comumente vividas por adolecentes, o disco não é chato. Falling Down (videoclipe), a primeira música de divulgação da banda, é uma das maiores canções pop upbeat que já ouvi! Cheia de baterias, guitarras e sintetizadores na voz da Selena deixaram a música energizante!

A música Kiss & Tell, que deu nome ao álbum, é a mais comercial, e tem cara de ser o último single que venha a ser lançado. É tão mainstream, que dá para acompanhar o rítmo da música mesmo que esta seja a primeira vez que você a ouve. Sem falar que o refrão é daqueles que gruda, característica de toda música mainstream.

As outras canções seguem no mesmo estilo, mas algumas tem uma variação aqui ou ali. Como em I Promise You, uma canção doce e elétrica, que no o refrão há um violão quebrando o embalo do rock, causando um efeito fantástico.

A música que menos se encaixa no álbum como um todo é Naturally, pois além de ser bem dançante no estilo techno, não tem o som pop-rock presente em todo o álbum.

Há também músicas animadas, divertidas e revoltadas como Crush, I Don't Miss You At All, I Won't Apologize e Stop & Erase, os woah! no fim de cada verso desta última vão ficar na sua cabeça.

No meio dessa empolgação toda, também há canções quietas, como The Way I Loved You, a música mais lenta, e I Got U, uma das que Selena canta com mais emoção, e na sequência final há uma interpretação ao estilo rock-glam dos anos dourados.

Uma das minhas favoritas é As A Blonde, a letra é engraçada e retoma em forma de sátira o velho clichê de que as loiras sempre conseguem o que querem. A canção é um cover da cantora Fefe Dobson, e não há muitas diferenças entre as duas versões.
