This year was signed by discovering a lot of new bands by visiting bigger summer festivals like the "Legacy Open Air" and "Rock Harz 2009" and other.

1:
My personal winner this year is Stream of Passion

They conviced me the most with their new album The Flame Within and they did an amazing show on the "Beauty and the Beast Tour"

2:
StOP are just followed by Legenda Aurea, who played an amazing yet much too short show on the RockHarz Festival. Their show was better then the one Epica did concerning sound and understandability. I just fell in love with the Ellipsis-album.

3:
I dicovered the music of my number 3 just this year, although their one and only album was produced in 2003 with the name Fallen.
Im speaking not of Evanescence, im speaking of For My Pain...

Number 4: is dedicated to a band I saw live twice till now and I dearly hope for more :)
The last time I saw them was on Legacy Festival...when the sun was burning and I came home with a sunburn grade 2 after the show, but it all was worth it.
Im speaking of Equilibrium, who's album Sagas ran up and down in my car during the summermonths.

Epica is my number 5 of 2009 for their new album Design Your Universe. Personally its not their best album, but well worth listening and buying though. I loved to see them live finally this year at the RockHarz Open Air...only for 5 Songs, but anyway. They were badly mixed live...but who to blame?

Number 6 is for Autumn and their current album Altitude. It was a good fellow through the spring time and it has some very nice smooth, balladish songs which I appreciate very well. Though I am still in love with Summer's End more then with anything before or after.

7:
This rank goes to Amorphis. Their new album Skyforger is just genious and I listened to it a lot while driving my car to work. Still Silent Waters prevails for me as my favourite album of them.

8:
Elis recently published Catharsis which is a very good album. Listening to it a lot at the moment. I have expected it for a very long time after they found their new singer and I must say she does very very well. Even live. It was a pleasure to see her at the Beauty and the Beast Tour.

9:
Stratovarius is my 8th rank fpr this year's music. I love the new album Polaris a lot and I'm sad that I didnt have the chance to see them live yet so far.

10:
I know them just for some weeks now still they already find a place in the Top10: Arkona and their album Goi, Rode, Goi!
and the same named title track have burned deep into my mind and I am listening to it a lot at the moment.

Sirenia<--The 13th Floor is nice, yet not as good as "Nine Destinies..."
Fjoergyn<---Seen live..was a little weak for me. But Their Records are very good

Dornenreich <---heard about them this year and saw them live 3 times. Omg they are so good, but i dont own any CD yet
