Bought on 7" back in '95. Still sounds good (to these ears) 18 years later...x

This was the first Ash song i'd ever heard on an indie compilation in 1995/6, and i loved it. Bought 1977 almost immediately after its release, which is their best album by miles, and one i still listen to regularly

geez, listen to the rest of the album before judging. this was ash at their best. alongside distortion heavy alt-rock jams like 'Innocent Smile', 'Lose Control' and 'I'd GIve You Anything', this album also had a number of decent ballads 'Goldfinger', Oh Yeah. Songs like Angel Interceptor and Kung Fu showed that the band maintained a sense of humor, while remaining serious about the overall vision for the album. I think the 'ooh-ooh' parts are pretty Spector-esque, and an essential part of the song. It's the best song on the album, imo.

This should be higher up, and the beatles had a lot of fillers and repeated lyrics in there songs, as long as its catchy its cool but if its like that for every song its not.

... 'not fond of the 'ooooohaaaaah' Many times these are just filler crap because a song writer apparently isn't smart enough to put real words there ... sometimes the emotion is okay ... but look back at so many of KISS's songs ... repeated lyrics over and over and over ... The got very boring VERY fast.
