Solarity - Laika on Enhanced Progressive

Alfie Granger-Howell and Nick Harriman aka Solarity have sprung to promenance over the past 12 months. Their trademark productions have caused a sensation worldwide, gaining dancefloor and radio play from some of the world's biggest DJs. Support includes Armin van Buuren, Hernan Cattaneo, Jody Wisternoff (Way Out West) and Dubfire. Laika originally started out as a remix for Enhanced but it was so good we just had to give it an original release. Having been a staple for the majority of 2009 in the warm up's of Will Holland at Digital Society this has become something of and early doors anthem for 'the coolest trance night in the uk' (Mixmag).

I heard Such Great Heights on the radio, fell completely in love and bought Give Up.

Holiday, on MTV. My 10 year old self was like, omg, rock music.

It's more trance. There aren't any lyrics sung by guest vocalists that really pop out at me. :P

In Rainbows.

I bought Infinity On High in 2007. Then, I bought Folie à Deux online, along with From Under The Cork Tree and Believers Never Die - Greatest Hits.

Portions For Foxes. It was the first on More Adventurous that really popped out to me.

Not really. Even his sad love pleas sound happy.

Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!, since it's the only one they've released.

No, not really. There's joy in listening to music, but nothing that stands out.

I went to Sonic last week and heard Make It Mine, which made absolutely no impact on US charts. It made me happy.

Simple. It's such a cute song.

Courtship Dating makes me think of better times. Black Panther also has a beat that sounds very happy to me, so it makes me feel rejuvenated when I listen to it.

Most of the songs that I like on their Greatest Hits come from blink-182, though.

I spent like, 2 hours doing this. Ah, the joys of not going shopping on Black Friday, instead listening to Christmas music and Michael Jackson specials on TV Guide Network.

Today Armada Music released a promotional video that features various clips of the fruits of their artist's labour. It has an article in ticker-tape format at the bottom of the screen if you'd like to read it, but the same article's in the video description. Even if you can't be arsed with reading, at least load the video to listen to the music. Set aside ten minutes for this.

The new material is scintillating, thrilling stuff! There's stuff from Way Out West and a new remix of that amazing Armin van Buuren and Jacqueline Govaert (formerly of Krezip) track, "Never Say Never." This selection is just too damn good!



Here's a fun track they posted last week, another great collaboration between producers Matt Cerf and Shawn Mitiska and vocalist/songwriter Jaren Cerf.



If you go to their official youtube channel, you can while away the hours browsing their Armin Only playlist, which features gorgeously high-definition DVD clips from the series of the same name. It boasts footage of Van Buuren's performances from 2005, 2006, and 2008. Truly a glorious time period for his career, though that period goes on even now. If you ever have the chance to see him live, whatever you do, do not miss it! It will change your life forever!

Sultan - November 2009 updates

In the highly challenging world of Djs and producers, the name Sultan is one that has made its mark and is here to stay.
