As I write this the scrobbled tracks counter reads 24980... somehow this makes me feel old. I am 25yo and as a child I used to listen my dad's vinyl record collection, from what I can remember, it was a pretty diversified set of music, ranging from regional and iconic Mexican artist like
Antonio Aguilar to heavy metal rockstars like
Ted Nugent, there were some records form
Freddie Mercury,
Donna Sumers,
Rod Stewart even a country record from
Alan Jackson, I liked the album from
The Alan Parson's Project called
The Best of The Alan Parsons Project there were also some compilation albums with hits from the 80s like:
Tarzan Boy
The Wild Boys
I Want to Break Free
Lady, lady, lady
How Can You Mend a Broken Heart
What's Love Got To Do With It
Walking on Sunshine
Other records I listened were: "The Best by
Deodato" (with a pretty good
acid jazz and
funk sound), one album from a german metal band called
Mass, an album from [artis]The Kinks some recordings from mexican groups like
Los Bukis and one form the legend
Pedro Infante. My father also had many recorded cassette tapes, I remember one that had the
Animals album, it was a
turning point for me since that I heard that cassette tape, I remember also that there was one with recording from
Led Zeppelin on one side and
Uriah Heep on the other. He had many tapes with great music some wich I later recognized and continue to listen and many tracks which I could never find out who the interpreters were. Obviously I recorded a lot from the radio myself, some tracks that I recalled at this moment are:
Sex And Candy
Lemon Tree
Smells Like Teen Spirit
La Celula Que Explota
Hasta morir
En la ciudad de la furia
Tubthumping
More Than Words
If You Leave Me Now
Anybody Seen My Baby
Triste Cancion de Amor
Dust In The Wind
So.. that's some of the music I used to listen and that I still like either because it was imprinted on my brain or because influenced in my musical taste later on. I can remember that when I was young I wanted to learn english just to understand the lyrics of the music I listened, as you can see I didtnn lern moach :-D but I still trying. Anyway let some more 25k tracks be scrobbled on this
fantastic site and etched on the grooves of my quarter century old memory.
