Animal Collective é uma banda norte-americana de rock experimental originária de Baltimore, Maryland. Apesar de ser muitas vezes considerado psicadélico com ressonâncias de folclore, o som dos Animal Collective é dificíl de definir, pois é normal nos seus álbuns recorrerem a diferentes estilos e ideias. Alguns álbuns dos Animal Collective não contam com a participação de todos os seus membros.
O grupo adoptou o nome Animal Collective a partir do quarto álbum, Here Comes the Indian, com a entrada de Deakin. Desde então Animal Collective reúne-se em Nova Iorque para trabalhar, já que os seus membros residem, actualmente, em diferentes países.

Fred's music career: Debuts with a mediocre Blues album, easily compared to Muddy Waters. Dates Sarah Jessica Parker, but a month later breaks up because her cock is too huge. (lolwut?)
