Mês passadoThe Swimming Hour is pretty cool in its own way, but the skill level of the instruments on the other two albums are incompatible. They are on an entire other level.

fevereiro 2011I remember when I first heard the Bowl of Fire. I was so excited by the sounds that I was trawling the internet to find something similar to listen to & was pretty disappointed when I couldn't find anything. Looking back on it now, it really highlights the genius of Andrew Bird to pull all that crazy stuff off. A musical feat that is hard to match.

julho 2010Andrew Bird is nothing short of a Genius... and this band just takes the cake for being most outrageously brilliant. I enjoy the swing tunes and the arbitrary arrangements of instruments.

junho 2010There are painfully few videos of the Bowl of Fire. It's a real shame. [2] bowl of fire thrills is one of my fav albums. i love the folky jazzy swingy feel. its unlike anything i've ever heard before. [2] i can't stop listening to his albums.

abril 2010Found a great website. For anyone who likes this band and wants to explore the sources that inspired Andrew Bird to create his Bowl of Fire music. http://juneberry78s.com/sounds/ Early american roots music is difficult to find to download or buy, so this free resource is wonderful in bringing a lot of it all together.

outubro 2009It seems to be many of the same similar artists to his solo work. Stylistically Bird is similar to no-one but I guess you could say that they're similar in that they have a unique approach to creating their music with an emphasis on multi-instrumentalists and orchestration and what not.
