More appropriate tags might be things along the lines of "indie pop" or even "twee." That would put him in the category of bands like Camera Obscura or Belle & Sebastian, both of whom he mentions in an interview on his site. Other similar bands would be The Lucksmiths, Math & Physics Club, Lucky Soul, or (somewhat noiser) The Pains of Being Pure at Heart.

I saw Mushishi, so I know about it, however he's Scottish artist. don't you think that tag "anime" would be enough? well, I don't understand why "japanese" is used too, although he creates really great music.
