I've thought long and hard about this list, and I think this is an accurate picture of how I feel. I made a metal and non-metal list, since I listen to a lot of metal but a lot of people don't, and an overall list. This is by no means accurate and reflects only my opinion and enjoyment of the records. All of these records are very good, and I recommend checking them out, especially any bands you haven't heard of.

This crap is not Grindcore

Okay, I am sick of (mostly) dumbass scene kids who don't seem to understand what Grindcore is. For example, how the fuck are Suicide Silence Grindcore? They're Deathcore, accept it. Grindcore is not Death Metal mixed with bloody Metalcore breakdowns. Fuck, Grindcore was around long before Metalcore. Listen to Napalm Death or Carcass and then play some Waking The Cadaver. Notice how they sound nothing alike? Just because your music is fast and contains harsh vocals that does not mean you're a fucking Grindcore band. Grindcore is more or less an extreme version of Hardcore Punk, and that is something which Deathcore is not.

Another thing, is it me or are the majority of Deathcore bands and fans ashamed of the Deathcore tag? I've heard artists such as Annotations of an Autopsy claim to be Grindcore even though they don't sound anything like the genre at all. Then you have dumbass fans claiming crap like Bring Me the Horizon and Salt The Wound to be Grindcore. What's so hard to accept about the Deathcore tag? Either you know not a single thing about Grindcore or you must hate your favourite artists being labeled Deathcore because that brings up images of scene kids and their side fringes.

AGENDA OF SWINE: Post Brand New Song Online

The Bay Area’s Agenda of Swine (Pete Ponitkoff - vocals, Jeff Lenormand – guitar, Jason Behan – guitar, Emad Jaghab – bass, John Gotelli – drums) have posted a brand new track, “Rooted In Spite”, online now via the band’s MySpace page: www.MySpace.com/AgendaOfSwine. This previously unreleased track was recorded for a split 7” that is due out next year.

Agenda of Swine released their debut album, Waves of Human Suffering, last year via Relapse. Waves of Human Suffering was recorded with engineer Zach Ohren at Castle Ultimate Studios in Oakland, CA (Animosity, All Shall Perish, Light This City).
