All India Radio are an Australian electronic band. The music is lo-fi, down tempo and instrumental. Part live band, part studio-based project, All India Radio have released 5 albums: The Inevitable (2000), 002 (2001), All India Radio (2003), Permanent Evolutions (2005), Echo Other (2006), and These Winter Dreams (2008). The albums have been warmly received all around the world particularly France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Poland where they charted on the alternative and dance radio charts. All India Radio was nominated for an ARIA award in 2003.

The band are very active in film and TV. Recent credits include the Warner TV series One Tree Hill, Canadian feature film Oblivion, plus work for Foxtel, ABC TV & SBS Television.

A new album, featuring singer Leona Prue, is in production now and is scheduled for release in early 2008.

Great music to do English term essays to; not too distracting and pretty damn relaxing :D. Overall amazing music, wish the label would change the default pic to actually allow the real band pic.

I just saw All India Radio’s video clip for ‘Persist’ at PETAAsiaPacific.com! I already loved this song but I was even more impressed to see that they chose to highlight the sad story of life as an animal in the circus in their video. The clip was even selected at the Melbourne Film Festival! Make sure you check it out here: http://www.petaasiapacific.com/feature-all-india-radio.asp?c=papairpr These guys apparently made the video because they too think it’s cruel and outdated to make animals perform for our entertainment. I couldn’t agree more – way to go guys!
