Alice in Astral Spheres - a new book by Rev Charles Dodoson: "Once upon a time, Alice learnt to play harp while living with the trumpet major and then she took a ride in a glider drawn by a white winged dinosaur and landed high on a small plateau before the great dark cave where the white winged dinosaurs were kept by Mighty Ravana, Raja to the Sinhalayas, in his mountain hideout where he lived in fearful bliss with his stolen bride, Sita, awaiting the Army of Giant Monkeys led by Red Hanuman to climb to his eyrie and claim his beloved for her jealous callow boy-husband Rama. But Alice said " Is this carry-on really necessary? Why don't we plant some tea bushes and pick and cure the leaves and then we can use this excellent mineralised mountain stream water to make a perfect cup of tea?"

AAaaaahhh Alice --yes, it makes sense that she became a Sai Baba nut --- when I think of the tall, thin, ginger- haired "monkey guy" ( what the students called him -- he was studying the communication patterns of those greybearded monkeys they have in the mountains of Sri Lanka) and he played me Alice Coltrane for the first time : western music was hard to come by those days but grass abounded so we had several tropical afternoons with the frangipani blossoms scenting the air lemon, and the smell of weed permeating the house, blasting Alice Coltrane to the unmoved world (the house was on on a hill where no-one but monkeys and lizards might hear).... .........so Alice has returned to her roots in the earth via hindu-buddhist meditation ........may she be well and happy
