ALL TOMORROW’S PARTIES IS CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF ATP, KICKING OFF WITH A SPECIAL 10TH BIRTHDAY FESTIVAL ON DECEMBER 11 - 13!

We will be celebrating 10 years of ATP from December 2009 to December 2010. As the fastest selling ATP ever, Nightmare Before Christmas curated by My Bloody Valentine is almost sold out, to get things going for our milestone, ATP is incredibly excited to reveal that we will commence our 10th birthday festivities with a second weekend in December and we want you to come and party with us!!!

The Ten Years Of ATP festival will take place at Butlins Resort in Minehead from Friday 11th December to Sunday 13th December, 2009. As this is our birthday party - it is going to be very special weekend. For the line up we are inviting our nearest and dearest to play – which means past

All Tomorrow's Parties has been promoting festivals and concerts throughout the world for the last ten years. It was founded in the wake of Belle and Sebastian’s Bowlie Weekender, with Mogwai curating in the unusual setting of Pontins Holiday Camp, Camber Sands. Since then the festival has appeared every year and has expanded across the globe continuing to set itself apart from large scale corporate festivals by staying intimate and fan-friendly. The line-ups are chosen by significant bands or artists which results in eclectic events that combine performances by legendary and influential acts with appearances by the latest crop of experimental artists from any (and every) musical genre.

The festival has become more successful with every passing year, and ATP events have taken place in the UK, USA, Europe and Australia, with past curators including Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Mike Patton, My Bloody Valentine, Portishead, Sonic Youth, Slint, Tortoise and Simpsons' creator Matt Groening. In 2007 and again in 2009 ATP even allowed festival-goers to pick half the line-up by organising a voting process for all ticketholders.

For ten years ATP has set itself apart from other festivals by embracing seemingly disparate artistic genres, with events featuring art exhibitions, cinema programmes, spoken word performances and stand up comedy. It's been called 'Unforgettable' by Spin and 'the most enjoyable festival experience of our reporter's life' by Pitchfork. It has spawned an acclaimed concert series (Don't Look Back), a record label (ATP Recordings), and the release of a feature length documentary about the festivals from Warp X, titled All Tomorrow’s Parties out 21 Sept 2009. The film is a semi-found multi media bricolage shot by over two hundred filmmakers, fans and musicians over the festival’s recent history, with key contributions from co-director Jonathan Caouette (Tarnation) and cinematographer Vincent Moon (The Take Away Shows, Arcade Fire). THE WEEK IN BETWEEN

If you are planning to come to both weekends, or wish to stay on after weekend 1 (or come early to weekend 2!) we have limited availability for people to stay on site during the week in between. This will cost £100 per person for the four nights, and is only available as 4 berth self-catering. If you book a 4 berth self-catering apartment for both weekends you will be able to stay in the same apartment. If you have booked other accommodations for weekend 1, you will need move into a 4 berth self-catering from Monday to Thursday or Monday to Monday if you book a 4 berth self catering apartment at weekend 2. During the week Crazy Horse will be open and we’ll be putting on light entertainment including bands and djs.

ABOUT THE VENUE

Butlins, Minehead looks out across a superb sandy beach. The site is equipped with a supermarket, newsagent, cash points and restaurants. Onsite facilities include a cinema, Splash Water World - a sub-tropical environment that has a huge wave pool, a swimming pool, 3 flumes and also a flume based raft ride - Ten-pin bowling and amusement arcade. Sports include Archery, Football, Basketball, Darts, Petanque, Fencing, Kwik Cricket, Netball, Rounders, Table Tennis, Outdoor Bowls and Crazy Golf.

Room Only accommodation is available in 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 berths and offers either double, single or bunk beds with private bathroom and TV, but no kitchen facilities or lounge, more like a hotel room. (£160 + booking fee per ticket)

Self Catering accommodation is available in 4, 6 and 7 berths and offers private bathroom, full kitchen facilities and separate lounge area with TV. (£170 + booking fee per ticket)

Dalsi one man picus, to tady dlouho nebylo. Alexander Tucker ma tu vyhodu, ze o nem nikdy nikdo neslysel (protoze label ATP Recordings si na tom, aby jejich "umelce" znalo jen primerene malo lidi, zaklada), takze ho clovek objevi nezatizeny nejakymi cizimi nazory a dojmy. Zatim ta podpultova informace funguje a obcas nekdo prekvapi: "Tyvole no nekecej ze delas koncert Alexandera Tuckera!!?" Ja jsem hipika objevila nekdy pred dvema lety a z jeho tehdejsi nahravky Furrowed Brow udelala tzv. desku tydne na Freemusiku (tady) a kdyz prisla nabidka delat mu koncert v Praze, i kdyz o dva roky a dve desky pozdeji, nevahala jsem ani pul vteriny.



Mate radi Syda Barretta? To je super chlapek, sice hral v jedne z nejhorsich kapel vsech dob a uz je mrtvej, ale jeho solovky jsou super. Nedavno jsem si na Krakovske poridila krasnej barevnej vinyl jeho rarit a pozmenenych verzi a je to fakt strasne, strasne pekny. Ne ze by Tucker znel uplne jako Barrett, ale je to takovy docela podobny psycho a pekny je to o dost vic. Deska Portal je dobra, ale ja mam radsi EP Custom Made, coz je miniserie ATP, jak napsal FFF "neco stareho, neco noveho, neco vypujceneho a neco modreho" (tady). Pripomina mi to trochu Three Mile Pilot a neni to proto, ze Tucker vypada trochu jako Jenkins. Je to hlavne v te kytare a podkladech, coz jsou zrejme smycce, nebo nejaka elektronika, co zni jako smycce. Tim, jak Tucker jenom volne rozvadi porad ten stejny motiv, vytvari - jeste v kombinaci s vysokym hlasem a repetitivnimi texty - takovy podivny klaustrofobicky efekt. Rodeo in the Sky mam nejradsi, i kdyz to je zrovna to "vypujcene".



Nebudu se tady zabyvat tim, kdo presne je Tucker, co ma za sebou a s kym vsim hral, je toho docela dost a sam to popsal na webu ATP, doklikate se k tomu i jinde v cestine. Nekdy to okecavani zasluh pomuze a obcas to nekoho presvedci; tady si ale myslim, ze to Tuckerova muzika zvladne sama. V pondeli odpoledne od tri hodin navic zahostuje na radiu Wave s Tomasem Turkem. Vecer na Sedmicce zahraji s Tuckerem Houpaci kone, takovy "ustecky dEUS", budou tam plakaty zadara jako vzdycky (teda krome posledne, kdy jsem na ne zapomnela) a vubec si myslim, ze to bude hezky.

1. Black Mountain "In The Future".
Классная и мощная запись могла быть с тем же успехом записана где-нибудь в начале семидесятых. Возможно, так было бы лучше.





2. Brian Wilson “That Lucky Old Sun”.
Поп-музыка, какой она должна быть. А Вилсон, как будто и не постарел вовсе.





3. Fleet Foxes "Fleet Foxes".
Американский фолк-рок в лучших его традициях.





4. No Age "Nouns".
Нойз-поп (более нойз, чем поп) с грязным гаражным звучанием и элементами гитарного эмбиента. Громко и плохо записано. Всё, как я люблю!






5. The Autumn Leaves "Long Lost Friend".
Запоминающиеся мелодии, отличные аранжировки, всё как полагается. Очень хороший инди-поп.





6. Alexander Tucker "Portal"
Гипнотизирующий британский drone folk.





7. The Junipers "Cut Your Key".
Красивый калифорнийский sunshine pop в исполнении англичан.





8. Titus Andronicus “The Airing Of Grievances”
Честный американский lo-fi инди-рок.





9. Rökkurró "Það kólnar í kvöld...".
Ну куда мы без исландцев. Лёгкий и красивый поп-фолк.





10. Our Brother the Native "Make Amends, For We Are Merely Vessels".
Пост-рок с иногда слишком истеричным вокалом. Как и все пост-рок альбомы чрезмерно затянут, но в целом звучит неплохо. Последний трек особенно хорош.





11. Mount Eerie “Black Wooden Ceiling Opening (EP)“
Фил Элврум в своём репертуаре. Напоминает времена The Microphones, в отличии от вышедшего в этом же году LP.





12. miaou “all around us”
Неплохой японский пост-рок.





13. Japandroids “Lullaby Death Jams (EP)”
Хардкорный гаражный рок. Очень круто для дебюта. Жду альбом.





14. Animal Collective “Water Curses (EP)”
Запись в духе Feels и Strawberry Jam. Как будто переходное звено между ними, хотя и была выпущена через полгода после Strawberry Jam.





15. Trouble Books ”The United Colors of Trouble Books”.
Довольно экспериментальный dream pop/ambient pop.

kratkej proces, pac na dvere klepou milovane zabricky, ale nechci porusovat tradici, nehlede na to, ze spousta dobrejch koncertu se tam (v tech vyrocnich hitparadach) ani neobjevi. tak je dobry v tom mit poradek no zejo. jo a taky se do konce roku uz asi nic nestane, leda bych se nekde vozrala. a aby to nebylo zas tak nudny, tak jeste je dole pokracovani tech mejch oblibenejch desek. zrovna tahle edice je ale takove soucasnostni intermezzo, tak se nebudu zlobit, kdyz me poslete do prdele.

Hank Williams III - Straight to Hell (2006)
sice letos uz vydal novou desku, ale tohleto je asi nejlepsi zacatek. zacatek s KANTRY! jak jsem uz psala a jak psal Yorke, paradni senilni opilecky poctivy kantry!! teda Yorke psal jen "senilni" a "opilecky", cert to vem. anyway tady je nutny zahodit vase predsudky (jako nezahazujte je uplne, jen je jakoby odlozte, predsudky jsou treba, kam bysme bez nich dosli!?) a proste to stahnout a uvidite co se stane.
