Songs that failed to make it....
Poor Mary J. & Be Without You should actually be in the top 40 AT LEAST but sadly it as released late 05 so it doesn't make the grade...It was played quite abit towards the end of last year
JoJo will more than likely appear in the upper echelons of next years chart...The same goes for Jessica Simpson, Stephanie Mcintosh & Robyn...Hopefully all will receive releases in the UK this year
Christina Milian - Say I... Poor Chrissy the 1st single she's released & not made my year end chart...She just missed out sadly
Joey Negro - Make A Move On Me...Almost made it only for the last minute inclusion of Booty Luv
The Feeling - Sewn...This did nothing for me when released, infact I recall hearing it on the Radio but I never knew who it was by til after the release of maybe Never Be Lonely...It has grown on me since I found out who it was by but sadly it misses out on my top 100...It reminds of this time last year...I really don't like these 2 months I like getting Jan, Feb & abit of March
Emma Bunton - Downtown...I don't actually hate this but it has to be said I never really feel the urge to listen to this but I listen to it when it comes on...It's just rather unfortunate that poor Emma misses my chart
Pussycat Dolls - I Don't Need A Man
Lilly Allen - Littlest Things
Armand Van Helden - My My My
Sadly I discovered songs by other acts that I didn't like at the time but discovered over the last few months...Namely Bodies Without Organs
I'm sure I'll think of loads more that I failed to mention but these are the main songs that missed my chart
Here's where my Chart begins...
100.
Beyonce feat Slim Thug - Check On It
This quite possibly is TOO LOW for this track but considering the fact its a last minute inclusion as I'd forgotten about it...its probably the position it deserves as I liked it at the time...I never really listened to it much after that its really just Beyonce by numbers like Deja Vu but it had the Freemason's remix to save it
99.
Lily Allen - LDN
I don't really like her & to be honest at the time I didn't get the HYPE for her at the time I still don't really but there's no denying that this & Smile both will always make me SMILE & remember hot Summers Days...Smile reminds me of when I visited Birmingham & I have fond memories of that so it's pretty much all good...Littlest Things was nice enough too oddly enough it reminds of Radiohead  The one thing that does annoy me about LDN is that when I think of London people Think they say Landon not LDN
98.
Mary J. Blige & U2 - One
I was rather surprised by how much I enjoyed this song...very MOR but lovely all the same...Poor Mica Paris attempted a version which stalled at #29 11 years earlier...Time for some nostalgia Anita Dels in her review of Mica's version went something like this...Mica's so talented & so beautiful she really shouldn't need to cover other peoples songs...Shame there were no other REAL hits from the album...The Breakthrough really should've been as HUGE as No More Drama & Be Without You Should've been her biggest hit since Family Affair
97. Cassie - Long Way To Go
96.
Keane - Is It Any Wonder?
I normally HATE Keane...one of the most DULLEST & DREARIEST bands I'd ever heard but this was quite good...It's really all about the intro
95.
Lemar - It's Not That Easy
Probably one of my favourite Lemar singles, not that theres that many Lemar songs that stand out apart from Dance With You & Another Day
94.
Fergie - London Bridge
92. Pussy Cat Dolls feat. Snoop Dogg - Buttonz
I was quite jealous when then they hit the top 5 with this & Mariah's Say Something FLOUNDERED at #27...which also featured Snoopy...Anyway this actually to me sounds like a quite good RIP OFF of the far SUPERIOR Truth Hurts Addictive
93.
Beverley Knight - Piece Of My Heart
I was abit disappointed with this initially but it really wasn't so bad...the main thing is the GH did really well & she's getting to release another album.
91.
Gina G - Tonights The Night
Poor Gina...recruiting Lisa Scott-Lee'S songwriters was never gonna give her a monster hit...It was OK & I loved the video & her still contiuing to promote it on Loose Woman despite the fact it was sitting at #57...Shame I would've liked a huge Gina G comeback but sadly it wasn't to be this came nowhere near anything on Fresh
90. P!nk - Stupid Girls
89.
Booty Luv - Boogie 2nite
Poor Tweet...This could've been her what a wasted opportunity...I recall someone on Moopy predicting someone someone predicting that someone would eventually cover it & it would be huge...I love it especially the intro...Are you ready? Cos I am...I had no idea until recently that this was performed by 2 girls from Big Brovaz
88. Girls Aloud - Whole Lotta History
87. Sunblock - I'll Be Ready
Forgive me for my sins :D
86.
Dannii Minogue - So Under Pressure
Very disappointing never really got this at all...during the Neon Nights era really up til this I always got excited about hearing a new Dannii song but this was a huge let down as was Perfection...I hope she finds another record deal that provides her with songs like I Begin To Wonder & You Won't Forget About Me...I was reading the about the follow up to Neon Nights which was supposed to be released in 04...It looked it could've wonderful...DAMN WARNER
85.
Texas - Sleep
I bought their album last year actually really looking forward to getting their last album as I really love the 2 previous singles but sadly after 1 or 2 listens I think Imight've scratched it & it hasn't played since...I must try it again later...This song was bland but nice...I'm always up for abit of bland so that wasn't really a problem
84. Alesha - Knockdown
Her 1st of 2 entries in my Chart...IMO this didn't really have anything on Lipstick although most people thought this was a HUGE IMPROVEMENT...It is rather good but I think they should've gone with Ting Aling as single #2
83.
Killers - When We Were Young
All about the intro the 1st song I've really liked by them since Somebody Told Me...Took me ages to get into it though
82.
Kasabian - Empire
I've never really passed much remarks on this band well apart from the Prodigy cover they did a few years ago..Best thing they've done by miles
81.
Bodies Without Organs - Chariots of Fire
They have much better than this but seeing as I'm a new fa of theirs & couldn't really be bothered finding out what they'd released this year...still I've enjoyed hearing this coming up randomly on my MP3 player...Had Living In A Fantasy been released this year would've gone top 20
80.
Bodyrox Feat. Luciana - Yeah Yeah
Shouty dance song which I like nothing more to say than that
79.
Oakenfold feat. Brittany Murphy - Faster Kill Pussy
I haven't really listened to this that much apart from times I've heard on the radio or listened to it on Now 64...The backing track reminds me of I Like The Way You Move but I never really got that but on this it really worked
78.
Chicane feat. Tom Jones - Stoned In Love
The best thing he's done by miles, not that he's really done a song that I've really liked before...I'm surprised he didn't try & do another collaborations album after this did well
77.
Andy Abraham - Hang Up
Reminds me of last Spring I had it on Now 64 I think...Shame it only made about #62 cos I loved it...really uplifting pop
76.
Kelly Clarkson - Breakaway
Had this been released 2 years earlier it probably would've been top 3 in my chart of 04...last year it would've still made the top 10 but this year it BOMBS SPECTACULARLY...As JoJo wisely sang it's just Too Little Too Late
75. P!nk - Who Knew
74.
Corinne Bailey Rae - Put Your Records On
I remember this being the 1st song that really stoodout last year for me I remember tidying my room & this chirpy little song came on...It made me Spring is on its way it must've been about late Feb...Well anyway it put a smile on my face & for some bizarre reason it always makes me think of Zkit...I could imagine him saying to nieldan & the rest of THAT CLAN...Gurls put your records on
73.
Lily Allen - Smile
I think I pretty much said all I need to when commenting on LDN I'll say I'm listening to it now & it really does have such a feel good factor about it...Oh & I love Alfie so I expect it should Chart higher than this next year...I've come to think that she's probably one of the most interesting popstars around at the moment after reading her Wikipdia after DESPISING her for so long
72.
Alexis Strum - It Could Be You
Such a shame that she never really made it cos this is gorgeous...I really feel sorry for her cos she has some ACE songs like Nothing Good About This Goodbye, Bad Haircut, Why Me Why Now?, Coming On Strong etc...I loved the way she did both styles of music & usually I prefer it when artists are more uptempo
71.
Rihanna - S.O.S
I never really GOT THIS like most people did I guess it's just another Can't Get You Out Of My Head...I must admit it has grown somewhat...I think the best thing that she's done by far is the Tony Moran mix of Unfaithful I only really discovered it at the end of last year & it really was a MASTERPIECE turning an average ballad into a DANCE MONSTER...Her 2nd album was OK to me it just seems like it ripped ideas of songs by loadsa other singers
70.
Kelis - Bossy
I don't really get why this FLOPPED it should've really given her another top 5 when you consider that she had 3 top 3 hits from her last album with NOT THAT MUCH PROMOTION...Shame really
69. Jamelia - Beware Of The Dog
I don't why everyone thought this was such a RIPOFF of SOS sure it used a similar of using the music from a song that Marily Manson covered & new lyrics added to it by that was really it...I always knew that this was never gonna be the MASSIVE hit quite a few people were expecting it really was all about Something About You...Shame she flopped with her latest album cos despite the fact that she's abit of a YAP she does have some really got songs...I like what I've heard her album...I really must upload her album & put it on my Zen when I get it back that is
68.
Fergie - Fergalicious
Quite an infectious little track with rubbish lyrics but don't most of the songs she sings on?? I don't why this never got a full release if it was fit to make the top 40 on downloads...I know the albums sales weren't overly brilliant but it's not like not giving this full release did it that many favours it was huge in the US...I really DON'T GET *I'm the few people who are reading are saying there's not much you do GET :D* the hatred, mind you I don't believe I've seen her being interviewed...London Bridge reminded me of a dull ripoff of Kelis' Bossy but it did grow which explains why it made my chart...Her album of the tracks I've heard sounds quite good loadsa different styles of music which I like
67.
Infernal - From Paris To Berlin
To be honest I initially HATED this song I just thought it was just absolute RUBBISH, but it has be said it took MONTHS but did grow it was nice having a little RESURGANCE of Europop last Summer
66.
P. Diddy feat.
Nicole Scherzinger - Come To Me
This really is such a simple little song...I was really looking forward to hearing this song seeing as it featured Nicole...I liked the idea of him featuring pop singers on his songs...Initially I was disappointed but it did grow the chorus shouldn't really be catchy but it does stick in your head after so many listens
65.
BeatFreakz - Somebody's Watching Me
I think this will always remind me of mornings seeing as I always have Radio One on in the mornings getting ready for work...such an exciting review but that's really all I have to say perhaps I was TOO GENEROUS in letting it be my #65. OH WELL
64. Rogue Traders - Watching You
I found this to be one of the most irritating songs on their album...I really was against it's release...I'd have much preferred Way To Go as single #2...I usually like it when I'm right but not on this occassion  I would've loved their to have gone Platinum & maybe all the singles gone top 10...Voodoo Child EXCEEDED my expectations by far...They're gonna support Girls Aloud it would be nice if that could turn their fortunes around plus Natalie is working on a solo album...I just hope she knows she's a POP SINGER & not a Kate Bush WANNABE...I remember hearing she released a cover of one of her songs with some Pop Idol singer :zombie:
62.
Robbie Williams - Lovelight
This is probably the 1st time a Robbie William's song has made my year end Chart in general I am totally INDIFFERENT to his songs...I don't recall whether Radio :bad: made my year end chart or not...Lovelight took awhile to grow but as it turned out I really like it now shame it BOMBED...I suspect She's Madonna will make this years end of year chart
61.
Cassie - Me & You
She released probably 2 of the best R&B singles of the year...This single deserved the huge success it had it was really played EVERYEWHERE...shame Long Way 2 Go UNDERPERFORMED cos it deserved to be nearly as HUGE as this...I know NOTHING about the singer though pretty much 06's Ciara
60.
JC Chasez - Until Yesterday
This took abit of time to grow...I really loved Blowin' Me Up (With Her Love) from the last album...I always thought it was abit SILLY releasing a song written by Justin Timberlake as its pretty much admitting that he needs him to give him a PROPER HIT but SADLY it didn't worK & I kind've wish it had cos the forthcoming album does sound more INTERESTING than his debut & this as it turns was a song I listened to quite abit towards the end of last year & actually thought there might've been a slight chance this could've been a hit
59.
Gwen Stefani - Wind It Up
I recall my 1st hearing this was a live & very bad quality version of this & thinking it was DREADFUL & thinking what was she think releasing this as the leadoff single...eventually I got the single version & I'd say it was among my most played songs in Dec I grew to love that background music & the yoddling...I've never seen the sound of music in full so I've never heard the song that it sampled & I think that was off putting for some people
58. Justin Timberlake - Sexyback
This kind've was a surprise not just from Justin but also from Timbaland to me it sounded like something you could imagine Basement Jaxx releasing...the album itself was much better than the debut which was pretty much all about the 1st 3 singles & maybe 1 or 2 album tracks...I'm sure Justin was pretty disappointed when his RAWK :bad: album was rejected...The EVIL in me would love to have seen the look on his COCKY little face cos he probably thought it was a MASTERPIECE...In thinking about it probably JC's Until Yesterday was probably one of the songs featured on the SCRAPPED ALBUM...I did enjoy My Love far more than I did the leadoff single...a nice little electropop styled ballad
57. Duncan James - Can't Stop A River
56. Paris Hilton - Nothing In The World
55. Nick Lachey - I Can't Hate You Anymore
54.
Shakira feat. Wyclef Jean - Hips Don't Lie
This really was a SUMMER SMASH & deservedly so I could imagine this playing on a hot summers day...even though I didn't play it then...those memories for me are remembered with Lily Allen's Smile *which probably should be higher I'm thinking now* as AFOREMENTIONED...Radio One never played this & I had no PC so I really missed it cos I wanted to hear this more...It really is such a FEEL GOOD song
53.
Similou - All This Love
I honestly thought this was a DEAD CERT top tenner...Like Paris Hilton's Summer Smash this also loans Gwen Stefani's vocals...Very 80's & again like most of my music it has the FEEL GOOD FACTOR
52. P. Diddy feat. Christina Aguilera - Tell Me
This probably by FAR the best thing he's ever been involved in & I just noticed it was produced by Jus' Blaze who were behind about 3/4 songs on Mariah's Charmbracelet album...None were anywhere near THIS standard though...I love the backing track & Chrissy actually sounds maybe at her most CONTROLLED on this. WONDERFUL
51.
Luther Vandross - Shine (Freemasons remix)
I think me tracking this little GEM down was because of Flo Benjamin...I never knew about this song til I saw him playing it & it was a Freemason's remix who did the WONDERFUL remix of Beyonce's Deja Vu...It's popped up on my Zen on MANY an occassion & each time has always been a pleasure all 6 mins & I usually hate LONG SONGS
50. The Feeling - Fill My Little World
49. Nelly Furtado - All Good Things (Come To An End)
48.
Alex Parks - Honesty
I actually loaned her album that featured this & Looking For Water & was pleasently impressed by both songs I think there were 2 other good songs & that was about it...it should've been much better the time she spent working on it...I also loaned Alanis Morrisette's GH around that time it took 10 years but I finally GET Alanis Morrisette :bad: I will always look back with FONDNESS on that time for no reason at all really it was the beginning of Autumn & I really like that time of year...Sorry for going OT but it is EXPECTED of mental old me
47. Rihanna - Unfaithful (Tony Moran Mix)
46.
Duncan James - Sooner Or Later
I never actually heard this song when it was out...Obviously its airplay was very LIMITED...I was sure he was gonna follow Simon's 1st albums success...I don't really know where it went wrong I know he's SMUG but that doesn't stop Justin Timberlake...& the reason I like this song is not based on the fact that I fancy him cos its not...there's something very FAKE looking about him  Can't Stop A River was lovely too...It should've been huge :manson: I hear his version of Lonestars Amazed is out tomorrow :grrr: YUCK
45. Will Young - All Time Love
44.
Simon Webbe - Coming Around Again
This was lovely shame it flopped its nothing we haven't really heard from him before...Its NO No Worries which I think I charted quite low last year it'll always remind me of when I visited Liverpool last March...so its understandable it didn't make my top 10 last year like it should've
43.
Seth Lakeman - Lady Of The Sea
Another song I got from my inspiration MUSICALLY :BAD:...I recalled seeing the cover of one of his singles when in Woolworths & thinking he was quite cute & to begin with I thought WHAT IN BLAZES is this rubbish it sounded like Irish Folk music but it did grow rather quickly...I started to listen to it continually for a few weeks non-stop...A very chirpy & uplifting little track
42. James Morrison - Beautiful World
41. Madonna - Sorry
40. Justin Timberlake - My Love
39.
All Saints - Rock Steady
Another of those songs I played quite abit towards the end of last year & still do occassionally...I in some ways think they could've come up with a better COMEBACK single but in saying that it did rather well...I think Parlophone COCKED UP by not releasing single #2 around late January & maybe did a little bit of TV promotion for the album...Its rather sad that they are labeless now
38.
Cascada - Everytime We Touch
This was a grower another of this surprising Europop hits that would've been huge in the late 90's but it is abit of a surprise in this CLIMATE...I actually really like the ballad version too...Their POINTLESS cover of Savage Gardens Truly Madly Deeply has grown on me...which is actually an achievement considering I would never INTENTIONALLY listen to the original version...They've actually done the unthinkable & made the top 10 with their album...Which I don't think any have done since Ian Van Dahl & their album was rubbish it should've been Lasgo who had that success :Oi:
37.
LL Cool J feat.
Jennifer Lopez - Lose Control
I was surprised Jermaine Dupri didn't push for Janet to feature on this...It might've helped raise her profile abit in the lead up to her COMEBACK  Anyway when this came out I absolutley LOVED the song it was probably my favourite song of the year but since then off course my love of it has slightly waned but it still gets the OCCASSIONAL listen
36.
Lucie Silvas & Marco Borsato - Everytime I Think Of You
I initially wasn't overly fussed on this but it grew on me & it by far SURPASSES that POOR Last Year song which I thought was OK but definetely not a LEAD OFF single she should be using her FULL VOICE like she does on this...I think she was aiming for a LAID BACK feel to this album...that to me kinda means BORING...I enjoyed the 1st album even bought it on the week of release on the back of the fantastic What You're Made Of & the floppy It's Too Late...Anyway yes this is always a JOY to hear it will always remind me of Winter nights which was when I mainly listened to it
35.
Alesha - Lipstick
Poor Alesha...She didn't really have much luck in 06...her Solo career never really took off despite the fact that this was a little CORKER I remember playing the CD single on repeat it was wonderful but even though I do LOVE IT I do understand the FLOPPAGE it suffered in a similar way to All Saints Rock Steady in that it had something missing that it being 06's Crazy In Love...Shame though cos Polydor looked like they'd put a quite a bit of money into her solo outing...It would be nice if another label gave her a chance to turn things around
34.
The Pussycat Dolls feat. Will.I.Am - Beep
I think at one time aft buying their album that this was actually my FAVOURITE song on the album...I was disappointed when they chose to release the BLAND Stick Wit U as the 2nd single but all good things come to those who wait & this became deserved smash...I think the best bit about it is the intro
33. The Feeling - Love It When You Call
32. Christina Aguilera - Ain't No Other Man
31. Ayumi Hamasaki - Blue Bird
30.
Girls Aloud - Something kinda Ooh
I was rather SHOCKED by the TURNAROUND in their fortunes their last album only made #11 while Whole Lotta History which actually took AGES to grow on me it was when I got Now 64 that it really grew on me as I let the CD play on as I lay in bed at night reading...I have to admit that Ronan Keating song with that Kate Rusby singer actually grew abit too :shy: as I just let the CD play on...anyway back to WLH its kinda like their Whole Again obviously NOT success wise...it charted at #6 but was out of the top 40 within 4 weeks...I just couldn't believe it when SKO spent FOREVER in the top 5 & the GH making #1...I really do think SKO deserved its success I think I liked it from the 1st listen & totally different to everything else in the charts, very energetic & uplifting...I was actually surprised that they hadn't changed their sound...I think it was the 1st song I played continuosly when I got my laptop
29.
Nerina Pallot - Everybody's Gone To War
Initially this left me cold but I recall tidying up & this came on the radio & it clicked...Anytime it pops up on my MP3 Player its always sure to put a smile on my face I think it should've charted 10 places higher...I never GOT Sophia perhaps I never really gave it a chance...She was the success story of 06 considering she'd been signed to Polydor & given some hype but bombed...even her collaboration with Delerium only made about #54 & initially this album bombed too until this was remixed & given a more commercial slant...GO NERINA
28. Girls Aloud – I Think We're Alone Now (Tony Lamezma Baubletastic Mix )
The radio mix of this is OK its really always been about this mix for me & for some reason this always popped up on my Zen when I was waiting on the bus after I'd finished work throughout Dec oddly...so I guess it will always have memories of that...Plus it reminds me of the way Motiv8 would remixed a song in the mid 90's & it does have a kind've a Christmas feel to it...so I suppose its the PERFECT combination...
27.
Frank - I'm Not shy
Poor Frank...I really like their TV Show Totally Frank...I had no idea they were gonna become a PROPER BAND though...their record company never really promoted them plus not many POP acts are succeeding these days...This song still plays regularly in my head...Defineteley not the best thing on their album but should've done much better than #40...RIP Frank I was a FAN even if the REST of the population WASN'T!
26.
Mariah Carey feat.
Snoop Dogg - Say Somethin'
Maz's only 06 entry  had it been released 6 months earlier it would've definetely been about 10 places higher...I've always loved the...If its worth your while Say Somethin' Say Somethin'...I remember that bit sticking in my head & singing it to myself in work the next...what POINTLESS things I remember...At the time of 1st hearing it with the Sample Clearance thing over it...I didn't think it was wise releasing it as a single but I thought maybe it would do OK sseing as the vocals sounded better thn anything on the previous 2 albums plus it had the combination of Snoop Dogg & the Neptunes seemed to be a WINNER at the time...The Morales mix is the BEST remix she's had in years
25.
James Morrison - You Give Me Something
For a longtime I just thought he was a one-man Coldplay & whatever else but one morning as I was having my breakfast & looking up Teletext with Jo Whiley on in the background, abit of a RITUAL seeing as I hadn't the Internet so I was WAY BEHIND with music news...:D I'm sure IF anyone is reading this is really iinterested in reading that bit...anyway this just really CLICKED one day & became another of my songs of the Summer...Wonderful World is also WONDERFUL...I'm really disappointed he never released Under The Influence that clicked when I was getting my shopping & I couldn't be bothered skipping it as I was packing my shopping away...I don't really know how I lived without my MP3 Player for all these years...It really has made me discover some GEMS I really would never have ever dream't of listening to as I wasn't fussed on the intros
24. Beyonce feat. Jay Z - Deja Vu (Freemasons remix)
I initially was REALLY DISAPPOINTED with this but as AFORMENTIONED the video & this remix more than made up for the initial disappointment...I really has to be said that the Freemasons are genuises at transforming dreary old songs into DANCE ANTHEMS :disco:
23.
Amy Winehouse - Rehab
WHAT A COMEBACK! I bought her 1st album quite cheaply admittedly but less than a year after buying it I gave it away FOOLISHLY cos now I've really gotten into the songs on her 1st album...I think I liked this instantly another song that sounds completely different to everything else around plus it sounds very commercial at the same time...this will always remind me of a place I went this year, as it was playing in a Cafe I ate in but I won't go into that cos this is kinda turning into my 06 in songs :D
22.
Jamelia - Something About You
I was actually listening to this today really FANTASTIC & I'm really enjoying her album at the moment...I've heard mixed reviews of it but IMO its the most SOLID album I've heard in a long time...probably along with The Feeling's Never Be Lonely & Rogue Traders Voodoo Child these were probably the songs I was hoping Radio 1 would play probably the songs I got MOST excited about this year
21.
Janet Jackson Feat. Khia - So Excited
Poor Janet I don't know why the UK in particular has started to IGNORE her existance, She's flopping worse than Mariah EVER DID...Admittedly the songs she came back with hardly career savingly wonderful but I did love this despite knowing that it was never gonna chart that well...call it one of MANY guilty pleasures...I want her album but I refuse to pay £10 for it
20. Beyonce - Ring The Alarm
19. Sugababes - Easy
18. Keisha White - The Weakness In Me
17.
Take That - Patience
To be honest I never really thought much of Take That at the time a friend of mine loved them...I think I bought their GH about 6/7 years after it was released as it was cheap & for some reason Never Forget wouldn't leave my head so that was the reason I bought it & I enjoyed it more than I thought I would...I think I listened to it about 4 times & that was it forgotten...I wasn't exactly a fan of Boybands & still ain't really but I thought East 17 were the best Boyband ever...I still think they were pretty good, I must get their GH too as I've only got Walthomstow & I wasn't overly impressed by it so a GH would be more PALLATABLE...I'd love they'd comeback with Let It Rain type of music maybe collaborating with Xenomania, none of this watered down R&B Brian Harvey loved doing...Anyway having initally thought Patience was just a bland comeback single...It really was the 1st Take That song that I kept hearing & said to myself...I have to get that song...I think it will always remind me of the last few months of last year which is nice
16.
Sugababes - Red Dress
I thnk the new girls vocals on this sound much better than Mutya's...It probably was one of my most played songs early last year...It really is such an uplifting little track especially that horn bit where they say...pull up in a Red Dress...I think that's what they say :manson: :D I must give credit to it's B-side I Bet That You Look Good On THe Dancefloor...I can't believe how their voices TRANSFORMED that song...The Arctic Monkey's version does NOTHING for me but although the Babes did very little to it they turned it into something FAB...Easy recieved quite a few plays from me too...It should've given them another top 3 cos I personally loved its tiny hint of an 80's feel but I can see why some people didn't...
15.
Ashlee Simpson - Boyfriend
I loved Pieces Of Me infact I think it made my top 10 for 2004...But this was alot more ANGSTY in a MANUFACTURED WAY...I think I bought the parent album last Feb cos it had been SO LONG since there had been a good album out...I thought it was pretty average initially which I suppose it is there are some good songs on it but I never really find myself desperate to listen to it...I think Boyfriend was another of those songs I played on repeat last Spring...The Frantic mix was a Winter treat...I think it was about Novemberish time I discovered Invisible which was WONDERFUL too she should really give up on songwriting & let the professionals do the writing for her espectially when they come up with CORKERS like this...A flop for band in 2003 but Ashlee took it #21...shame they didn't reissue the album although I do hope it hope the next album has a variety of writers & not just John Shanks
14.
Sunblock feat. Robin Beck - The First Time
:D This was probably one of my most played songs of the Summer I remember hearing it on adverts for some Compilation & really liking it I eventually got it on Now 64 & just played it FULL BLAST on repeat a trillion times...Its all about the...FOR THE VERY 1ST TIMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMME...Absolutely rubbish but yet WONDERFUL at the same time...It took ages for I'll Be Ready to grow for which I hold my head in SHAME for happening cos I initially DESPISED it
13.
ayumi hamasaki - Ladies Night
All credit for me discovering Ayumi Hamasaki goes to Floella Benjamin...There's nothing quite like sitting on a bus & this little GEM popping up on your Zen UNEXPECTEDLY...This actually stays in my head for AGES afterwards so the smile stays on my face for ages...I don't think I'd really ever enjoyed a song in another language until I heard THIS LITTLE JOY...I was probably cheating adding in Blue Bird as yes it was a #1 smash in Japan on 06 but I never recieved it til Jan 07 but I was so OVERWHELMED by it at the time I couldn't RESIST adding it in...I'd imagine if Steps were Japanese Blue Bird would be THERE song
12. Beyonce - Irreplaceable
This was one of those songs that I'd ascossiate with Autumn last year really lovely, simple song that I couldn't get enough of as you can see from its plays...A huge IMPROVEMENT on the lead-off single from BDay...Which sales showed the public agreed with...Shame Ring The Alarm will probably never get a release here as its s different to everything else she's released admittedly it kinda rips off Kelis' Caught Out There but who cares with its WONDERFUL video with Beyonce SPAZZING out...It makes wanna ROCK SOME CHINCHILLA COATS
11.
Christina Aguilera - Hurt
I really love this even moreso than Beautiful which I loved for about 2 months but then the novelty wore off due to overplay...Shame it didn't really take off...I was REALLY SURPRISED I was expecting a #1, definetely top 3...When you consider that Ain't No Other Man made #2...Even knowing it was a JOY too but still I consider it a lesser song to this...To me despite my LOVE for Ain't No Other Man it just sounds like they've taken the beat for Come On Over Baby & added a few trumpets to it
10. Keisha White - Don't Mistake Me
9.
Will Young - Who Am I
Awww...this was lovely played it on repeat last Spring it should've given him another top 3...The best bit as with most songs is the Chorus...I think a few months earlier All Time Love was the song of choice for bedtime not in a bad way usually if I play dancey songs they usually keep me awake so I always tend to play slower music night...Which I'm sure you are all interested in knowing...I'm thinking now I was maybe a tiny bit HARSH putting it so low in my countdown but then again maybe the songs above it are better hmmm...Hopefully he'll comeback later this year with a better album than the last DISAPPOINTMENT although something tells me its gonna be along time before he release his next
8.
Madonna - Jump
Definetely one of my most played Madonna songs I really love it...I think its INCLUSION in The Devil Wears Prada was what really helped it STANDOUT for me & although I'd always planned to buy COTD when it hit the BARGAIN BINS but this definetely reminded me I needed it, Sorry & Hung Up were the other reasons...I'm not fussed on the PRICK but it can't be DENIED she's got some very good songs...I think around the time she was promoting Hung Up I'd kinda warmed to her but that didn't last long...Anyway this made me purchase Ray Of Light also which is also quite enjoyable...I loaned it from the library years ago & was not to fussed bar the singles which were wonderful
7.
The Feeling - Never Be Lonely
Awww...one of my favourite songs of the year at one point this was my #1...really Cheery, Uplifting...The Feeling were quite a surprise this year...I never even noticed Sewn & it took ages for Fill My Little World & I didn't think they'd top that but they did with this...Love It When You Call took ages to grow but in January I'd say it was my favourite song & for that I'm glad I've done this 2 months late...the 1st time I heard LIWYC I thought Queen & I really despised them, it should've been another top 10er...Rose is lovely too
6.
Nick Lachey - What's Left Of Me
Awww...Poor Nick dumped by Jessica although all that BLUBBING was abit OFF PUTTING though...You'd love to hit him a SMACK & tell him to GET OVER IT...Look at how Jessica handled it with CLASS...Barely mentioning it apart from a few crocidile tears :D Anyway this song is rather lovely it got loadsa play towards the end of last year...Its always a PLEASURE when this randomly pops up...It also helps that he looks quite nice...which I didn't really think he did in Charmed...I Can't Hate You Anymore is pretty much part 2 of this song but still lovely to hear...I thought last Summer when his album came out he was gonna breakthrough here as he'd start promoting the single & the label looked like they were behind him...then ODDLY the single gets put back 5 months & he charts at #47, the same thing happened with Jessica it gets you thinking do SONYBMG know what they are doing
5.
Paris Hilton - Stars Are Blind
To be honest I'm not overly fussed on her but I did quite like Screwed plus Stars Are Blind was probably one of my songs of last Summer for me...a really cute little song with Gwen Stefani styled vocals...It could really have been sung by ANYONE & been HUGE...Again the reason I bought the album was cos I hadn't got the internet to sample it first :grrr: & it did feature some good producers so I thought it would be a SAFE PURCHASE seeing as it was cheap on its 1st week in Woolworths...I haven't really listened to it since...Had the originally planned 1st single Turn It Up came out 1st I doubt I would've bothered...I do really love Nothing In This World & the accompanying video it should've been another top 10er
4.
Nelly Furtado - Man Eater
What a COMEBACK...I always thought she was abit dreary before although I did quite like Shit On The Radio, Powerless & Forca...I have since invested in her debut album seeing as it was cheap...its quite odd that there so many copies of the debut laying around in shops yet the 2nd there's barely ANY & what there is of it is OVERPRICED...Maneater is BY FAR the best thing she's done a complete REINVENTION...I loved it so much that I bought the album on the day of release...It does irritate me that she says that Hippy Image wasn't her...Well why the hell did she have that image then? It must've been her...The only other song on my Chart by her is All Good Things which I loved muchly reminds me a tiny bit of Jewels Intuition mainly just that beat...Can't believe Chris Martin write it...I was disappointed by Promiscuos & I'm not really getting the HYPE for Say It Right it sounds to me just like a slowed down version of the AFOREMENTIONED SONG...I do love Glow though it should've been released but maybe it wouldn't have done as well as those 2 songs...As I seem to be in the minority of being INDIFFERENT to those 2 songs
3.
P!nk - U & Ur Hand
I bought the parent album on the week of release cos at the time I just thought Stupid Girls was OK...My opinion of it hasn't changed much I think it was really all about the video plus it was a NOVELTY seeing her releasing seeing her releasing something so POPPY I enjoyed the album almost immediately despite the fact nothing really jumped out at me off course a few months later that had all changed I can't believe they're releasing a 5th single from it now...Who Knew was very much a Radio song nice to have on in the background but not something I'd wanna listen to over & over again...It really was ALL ABOUT U & Ur Hand...I'm not here for your entertainment at the time of its release I couldn't get it out of my head & its probably my favourite P!nk song
2.
Keisha White - I Choose Life
I've said it before I'll say it again...Her album should've been HUGE & all her singles should've been top 3 smashes...Poor Keisha it just wasn't to be...I recall reading people mentioning her on Moopy but it was the TV adverisement that influenced my purchasing of the album...I think that was the 1st time I'd ever been influenced to buy an album just by seeing an advert...Initially I found it abit BLAND but within a few weeks I was hooked to it I Choose Life is by far the best thing on it, it infact the whole album will always remind me of last Summer, Same with the Rogue Traders album, her version of I Choose life knocks the socks of Celine's version for me...Don't Mistake Me was my 2nd favourite it was kinda stupid releasing I Choose Life after this had flopped as bother were quite similar maybe they should've gone with the albums title track seeing as people loved The Weakness In Me...I'd never heard it at the time it shows how BEHIND THE TIMES I was then...It was the video which made me grow to love TWIM it was quite simple but really worked for the song
1.
Rogue Traders - Voodoo Child
Where do I begin the 1st song in ages that REALLY got me excited about music & the NIGHTMARE of not having the internet mean't I only heard it when Radio 1 played it...I bought it as soon as it came out & having Izzy from Neighbours on vocals was always a selling point for me anyway...Favourite part of the song is Here Come The Drums...I originally thought it was Become The Drum which I thought sounded much better...I found it quite hard choosing my #1 but I think this deserves seeing as Keisha has t 2 top 10's & this maybe got me more excited at the time
