    Set 20 2009, 13h00 por thelizster

Name your top 10 artists of the last seven days played on last.fm:

    1. The Seatbelts
    2. Carpenters
    3. R.E.M.
    4. Vivian Girls
    5. James Chance
    6. Daft Punk
    7. Atlas Sound
    8. Adorable
    9. SOIL & "PIMP" Sessions
    10. Deerhunter

Now answer the questions according to the numbers:

What was the first song you ever heard by 6?
Something on Discovery, probably "One More Time" or "Aerodynamic."

What is your favourite album of 2?
    Technically a compilation - The Singles: 1969-1973

What is your favourite lyric that 4 has sung?
From "Where Do You Run To:"
"It's alright, just leave the light on
I will never ask you why
Once you've gone remains the question baby
    Where do you go?
Why do you leave me all alone?
Where do you run to baby?"
(more than one, I know - it's the whole song!)

How many times have you seen 5 live?
Never, but he's still performing, so hopefully someday!

What is your favorite song by 7?
"Walkabout" - the one with Noah Lennox/Panda Bear.

What is a good memory you have involving the music of 10?
I don't have a specific memory pertaining to Deerhunter. I just really love Cryptograms.

Is there a song of 3 that makes you sad?
It's really dependent on mood. Songs from Out of Time make me melancholy sometimes, particularly "Half a World Away" and "Belong."

What is your favorite lyric that 2 has sung?
    From "All We Know:"
"Let's take a lot of time to say
    I knew you well
    For only time
    Will tell so
    And love may grow
    For all we know"

What is your favorite song by 9?
I don't have a favorite yet because I just started listening to them. :|

How did you get into 3?
I didn't necessarily grow up with them, but it was one of those bands in my formative years that was always present. I vaguely remember Automatic for the People being released, but I was four years old then. I didn't really pay attention to R.E.M. until I was fifteen, when I listened to Document all the way through. I guess it went from there.

What was the first song you heard by 1?
That would have to be "Memory," since that's what the first episode of Cowboy Bebop opens with.

What is your favorite song by 4?
    I'm still not sure.

How many time have you seen 9 live?
    Never. D:

What is a good memory you have involving 2?
Just growing up in general. The Carpenters were something that my Mom always kept in the house. She wouldn't play them often, but she loved them anyway. I remember being seven years old and seeing an infomercial for their Love Songs compilation, and I absolutely loved the music.

Is there a song of 8 that makes you sad?
I have mixed feelings about all of Adorable's material. Against Perfection is a stellar album, but I associate it with my ex-boyfriend. Sometimes it makes me happy, sometimes it makes me sad, sometimes it turns into a clusterfuck of emotions. But I think the only song that still really gets me is "Have You Seen the Light."

What is your favorite album of 5?
Off White, which was under the James White and the Blacks name.

What is your favorite lyric that 3 has sung?
There are so many! No way I can pick a favorite.

What is your favorite song of 1?
    "Adieu" and "Dijurido" are tied.

What is your favorite song of 10?
I don't know if I'd settle on FAVORITE favorite, but I like the intro track to Cryptograms a lot.

How many times have you seen 8 live?
None. They're not even a band anymore. D:

What is your favorite album of 1?
Either Blue or Future Blues. But really, all their material is awesome.

What is a great memory you have considering 9?
None yet - again, just started listening to them.

What was the first song you heard by 8?
Uhhhhh I wanna say "Still Life," but it really could have been anything. My dad played both albums constantly when I was a kid.

What is your favorite cover by 3?
    "Femme Fatale," I guess.

    30 questions about your top 30 (last.fm)!

    1. How did you get into 29?
The Orchids in 1994, i saw some names in a local indie music magazine called Music Heaven, there was a special article about Sarah 100 farewell, but it took me almost ten years to first heard those bands, the compilation is the famous There Are Back Again Lane which with TocarPeaches on it. i still not fancy the male vocal that much, but when the girl sings "get yourself high..." i'm really happy.

    2. What was the first song you ever heard by 22?
The Embassy there was a misapprehension at first, because there was another Canadian band with the same name, my darling Swedish friend Julius burnt me a The Embassy and Jens Lekman mp3 disk, then marvelous tasty Stage persona popped up, i was fully in a dizziness, happy in the thirsty, hunger, lust for Swedish sweet.

    3. How many albums by 13 do you own?
Jens Lekman all of them! Jens was in Shanghai around last Christmas, but i was too busy at work, so a lifetime regret tortured me for a while, i went to the same pub he performed, seeing some jazz band on the same stage, but the echo in my mind was all from Jens...

NO! it means it's reluctant to pick any masterful track to show my worship. too many to mention: Barbarism Begins at Home, TocarDraize Train, This Charming Man, Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others, but i guess i would pick Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now, it was the first time i heard about 22 year old Johnny Marr 10 years ago on a cassette, dreamy, romantic, lush... we had to re-populate the world...

the two of us were kidnapped
    locked up in a room
    left alone for days
we had to find something to do
    then when i awoke

  • 2008

    Jan 2 2009, 2h25 por caro_g

    2008!

    5. Spiritualized, The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Draytones - Personal Fest, Club Ciudad de Buenos Aires [31.10.2008]

    6. Peter Bjorn and John - OneDotZero, CCR [27.09.2008]

    12. The Hives - Pepsi Music Apertura en Obras [13.09.2008]

    15. The Draytones - The Roxy [01.11.2008]

Attic Lights - Friday Night Lights

British Sea Power - Do You Like Rock Music?

Broken Social Scene Presents: Brendan Canning - Something For All Of Us...

Iowa Super Soccer - Lullabies to keep your eyes closed

    Johnny Flynn - A Larum

- Hold On Now, Youngster... y Los Campesinos! - We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed

    Okkervil River - The Stand-Ins

Peter Morén - The Last Tycoon

Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin - Pershing

The Accidental - There Were Wolves

The Black Angels - Directions To See A Ghost

The Black Keys - Attack & Release

    The Duke Spirit - Neptune

    The Envy Corps - Dwell

The Helio Sequence - Keep Your Eyes Ahead

The Little Ones - Morning Tide

    The Lucksmiths - First Frost

The Primary 5 - High Five

    Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend

    Absentee - Victory Shorts
All Girl Summer Fun Band - Looking Into It
    Brett Anderson - Wilderness
Cajun Dance Party - The Colourful Life
    Catfish Haven - Devastator
    Chad VanGaalen - Soft Airplane
    Chris Walla - Field Manual
Cloud Cult - Feel Good Ghosts
Cold War Kids - Loyalty to Loyalty
Conor Oberst & The Mystic Valley Band - Conor Oberst

My son (6) and daughter (4) like their rock music. Lately they've been asking for it a lot, so I've been spinning some vinyl for them on many an evening. Here are some of the tunes we have been jumping around to:

    Adorable - TocarFavourite Fallen Idol

    Buzzcocks - Spiral Scratch EP

Elastica - Line Up, Annie, Connection

    The Fall - 2 X 4

    Gang of Four - TocarEther

Idlewild - TocarEveryone Says You're So Fragile

    Maxïmo Park - TocarOur Velocity

    The National - Abel

Pixies - most of Surfer Rosa as well as some of Come on Pilgrim

The Radio Dept. - TocarWhy Won't You Talk About It?

Super Furry Animals - Do or Die

    Swervedriver - For Seeking Heat

Urusei Yatsura - Slain by Elf

They know a good song when they hear one.
