  • XLR8R guest podcast by Boy in Static: featuring Her Space Holiday, Birds &…

    Abr 16 2009, 19h03 por boyinstatic

XLR8R asked Boy in Static to put together a guest podcast for them. In going through our iPod's, Kenji and I realized we wanted to make a personal mix of bands that we have met or toured with over the years. And we told a little story about each one.

Among those bands: Mint Julep, Her Space Holiday, Montag, Freezepop, Birds & Batteries, Cars & Trains, 4 bonjour's parties, Future Bible Heroes, Misha, Themselves, Lymbyc Systym, The Notwist, and Helios.

  • My Little Airport - "The Ok Thing To Do On Sunday Afternoon Is To Toddle In The Zoo"

The only thing I’ve bought in your shop was a $10 candle with some nice smelling. It couldn’t help you to pay the rent", en la canción que dedica a su amiga, porque en su tienda es donde ensayaban después de clase, o en Tocaryou don't wanna be my girlfriend, phoebe "All the boys think that you are the best / All the eyes are just looking at your breast" en "You Don't Wanna Be My Girlfriend, Phoebe".

La verdad es que el gran acierto son las preciosas melodías y los pegadizos ritmos que consiguen con tan poco, como en la triste Tocarvictor, fly me to stafford(I love you when you no longer love me / I need you when you no longer need me) o en "edward, had you ever thought that the end of the world would come on 20.09.01?"

  • 4 Bonjour's Parties - Pigments Drift Down to the Brook

  • Nori-Nori Nhhmbase

    Set 11 2008, 3h35 por jonniewilks

TADA Music have the latest review of nhhmbase up for perusal. Below is a choice quote from an amusing article:

"With track 4, 'PL Network', we're back to straightforward time signatures and Johnny Greenwood guitars. Great little melody, too, again making use of Mamoru's fantastic voice. Clocks in at little over 3 minutes, too, meaning it'd have no problems getting on the radio if this were 1962. Of course, if this were 1962, Nhhmbase would be burned as witches."

For the rest of the article, head over to:

    July, 2008

Wow! Apparently, today's the first July 3rd, 2008, EVER! Some say it may well be the last, but I'm not so sure... Aside from that, happy Independence Day to our buddies in the mystic West. I'm not sure what you people get up to on July 4th, but I hope you've got "TADA Music time" penciled in there somewhere, 'cause we've got bunches of great stuff to give you.

    WORDS

First off, we've got a couple of groovy interviews up. There's some happy chin-wagging going on between Saya from Tenniscoats and Japanzine's Jon Wilks. Have a read here:

    http://tadamusic.org/en/node/284

He's also been talking to the sexy boys and girls that make up 4 bonjour's parties (check them out on our next TADA Sampler, due sometime later this summer). That one's over here:

    http://tadamusic.org/en/node/258

And if that's not enough J-music reading matter for you, Tim Dillon caught up with Lullatone early in June and...errr... discussed dish washing technique. Have it here:

    http://tadamusic.org/en/node/251

    MUSIC

Of course, we know what you really want us for, and it's all the free music we give away. Well, most of you had very little complaining to do about TADA Sampler Volume Four, featuring a whole host of lovelies, including Tenniscoats, Mothercoat, tailor made for a small room, The Loving Oven, Akira Kosemura and many, many more). If you didn't know about it, it's still online. It's not going anywhere... look!

    http://tadamusic.org/en/node/253

More recently (released TODAY, in fact) is a 4-track EP from Night Town Service, a new internet-based project swapping files out of Tokyo and Fukuoka City. It sure is purdy! Check it out for yourself:

    http://tadamusic.org/en/node/285

    ---

We reckon that oughta do it for you for the time being, though we're expecting to post an Akira Kosemura interview online in the next few days, as well as a LITE live review before the end of the month.

Hope to see you on the TADA site.

    Cheers!
