The idea is to go to the page of your number one artist, and follow the link of its number one similar artist, then repeating that for this artist and so on, noting down each artist as you go. Do this until you've got to 50 artists (not including your number one). If you get any repeats, just go to the second similar artist or the nearest one that you haven't already had.
... well, this time I started out with my #2, but i didn't go far. because I'm too lazy XD
1.
OLIVIA - the fact that she's on my top 2 should explained everything, right? though i prefer her mini-albums era than her latest..
2.
OLIVIA inspi' REIRA (TRAPNEST) - i used to use this tag, but when Last.fm got retarted and said its incorrect, i decided to change it to
OLIVIA. i have not much plays for her NANA songs anyways..
3.
ANNA TSUCHIYA inspi' NANA (BLACK STONES) - same goes with #2, though i prefer Anna's NANA songs than her latest. to some extent of course. her
Taste My Skin is just so awesome<3
4.
NANA starring MIKA NAKASHIMA - Mika. the first time i heard her song was for NANA, but it does nothing to me. maybe she's really not for me...
5.
土屋アンナ - the correct tag for
Anna Tsuchiya that i currently using. i didn't bother to change it because i got too many plays for the other already. Last.fm, plz do me a favour and merge them.
6.
Tommy heavenly6 - ah Tommy. words cannot express my love for this woman. her style of girlish rock might be somewhat similar to Avril, but it is her lyrics that made Tommy much better than her. i love her lyrics. they always had fun Engrish<3
7.
Tommy february6 - i cant decide whether i love this Tommy or TH6 better. i found TF6 first before i did TH6 through her
Lonely in Gorgeous that i downloaded in random. i know nothing of the anime tied until i am madly in love with her whole discography and decided to go look for her profile. love her 80's pop<3
8.
the brilliant green - the legendary band. i found them out after my fangirlness of both Tommy is unsatisfied with just their discography. turn out the band is much more interesting. so good they reunited, but to do a song for an anime just ruin their chart. i always hate it if an artist got only one song overplayed because of a single anime...
9.
JUDY AND MARY - i used to listen to them. but since i like YUKI's solo works better, i stopped. not that they're no good, but, yeah, they're much too...'eccentric'? for me. i might gave them another try in the future.
10.
YUKI - she's one of the first JPOP artist i listens to. she's very unique in her own way. one would call her the Japanese Bjork because of it. just go and watch her pvs, you'd understand.
11.
チャットモンチー - honestly, i've tried them out so many times. at times i'd say i love them, the next i'd say they're boring. oh well, i'm giving them another try atm. surprisingly, they're very popular among Japanese listeners. that must have mean something, right?
12.
くるり - an all male band i have heard of here and there. but because the profile explained nothing about themselves, and the fact i dont really like male vocalists for an unknown reason, maybe i wont know about them. but if someone recommended me of them i'd be sure to give them a try.
13.
クラムボン - alike #12, i know nothing of this band. but they seemed interesting enough. i'll put them on my will-try list.
14.
ハナレグミ - i know he did a duet with
Chara in the Cyndi Lauper's tribute album..
15.
SUPER BUTTER DOG - no idea. reminds me about
ORANGE RANGE somehow though i never heard anything from them too..
16.
キリンジ - no idea either. despite the lack of profile, the amount of plays and listeners are quite impressive.
17.
サニーデイ・サービス - a disbanded band in the early 2000. i know there's so many great bands during that time. and most i've known has disbanded as well.
18.
曽我部恵一 - the former vocalist of #17. he released many albums/singles under his own name it seems.
19.
中村一義 - a solo artist in the late 90's. most of his top listeners are Japanese.
20.
100s - the band where #19 used to be with.
21.
フジファブリック - currently on tour. they have a few streamable tracks. a bit rare for Japanese artists on Last.fm
22.
Monobright - i know their song is the current Gintama's theme. pretty good song that one.
23.
9mm Parabellum Bullet - a pretty well known band. maybe one day i'll give them a listen too.
24.
凛として時雨 - finally a band with female vocalist. they have a pretty high weekly plays. makes me interested in trying them too.
25.
Syrup16g - a band with "depressing lyrics" so the profile says. makes me think of RURUTIA's depressing songs.
26.
ART-SCHOOL - a pretty well known band. the total plays is impressive, thanks to the streamable tracks i suppose.
27.
Ogre You Asshole - the livejournal community i join put their discography up some time ago made me recognize this band. am i stupid to say their band name scares me? >_<
28.
NUMBER GIRL - heard their band name mentioned here and there. currently disbanded.
29.
Zazen Boys - pretty well known band i think. they once featured
Shiina Ringo in their album? wow.
30.
ゆらゆら帝国 - a band debuted back in 1989 that i never heard of before
--------------
the rest are very unknown bands (at least to me). i run out of things to say, so as to not let myself babble too much, i stopped at number 13.
EDIT:
well i decided to go further. so many indies bands. but since i'm more interested in bands with girls in them... perhaps one day i'll tolerate male vocalists
