Universal Music Brasil
A história da Universal Music no Brasil está intimamente ligada à história da Música Popular Brasileira. Quando a Philips iniciou suas atividades discográficas no Brasil, adquirindo a Companhia Brasileira de Discos (CBD), em 1958, já encontrou por aqui uma empresa pioneira, com 13 anos de existência.

As origens da CBD remontam ao ano de 1945, quando foi fundada a Sociedade Interamericana de Representações (Sinter), responsável pelo lançamento do primeiro long-playing fabricado no Brasil. Dos choros gravados pela pianista Carolina Cardoso de Menezes aos discos da Velha Guarda da Portela - com Pixinguinha (sax-tenor), Donga (violão) e João da Baiana (pandeiro) -, a gravadora já tinha particular interesse pela produção de música popular brasileira.

    Dear Universal, don't you think it's about time you remove the official pictures of Papa Roach? Besides that no one likes them, the "Like" and "Dislike" buttons seem to be there for a reason. And in case you haven't noticed yet, those two pictures are the ones with the biggest amount of dislikes. They've been there for ages and us, the fans, think it's about time we choose which picture we prefer, don't you think? This is a free site, so we shall have the right to choose. I know that no one wil ever read this and that it is a waste of time, but I just wanted to show my insatisfaction. Thank you, someone.
