Most English bands put on a false american accent so as to be able to sell abroad.

However there are a few exceptions and when I think of bands with English accents I would go with everything that Paul Weller has done particularly with The Jam.

However I don't think you can beat The Kinks. Pete Townsend of the Who said he couldn't think of any other band more quintessentially English than the Kinks.
