How to combine genre with "under 2000 listeners"

Multi Tag Search Live again! Try combining your favourite genre with “under 2000 listeners” (and remember to pick artists not tracks). Like this:

    http://playground.last.fm/multitag/artists/%2522under%25202000%2520listeners%2522%2520metal

If you want to find new bands then try joining under 2000 listeners

    Use Google

I usually do a Google-search like this: inurl:www.last.fm/music "under 2000 listeners"+"experimental"This way I get a list of results from artist-pages that contain the text "under 2000 listeners" and "experimental" (About 16,500 results (0.28 seconds)).

  • ComboFM is the strongest radio tool. I personally do it the manual way using Base64 converters.
I used to use multi-tag flash radio but now I do everything through combo stations and have discovered a whole lot more artists I would have a hard time finding through multi-tag. It is so customizable. Plus, you can listen to combo stations on your desktop client and not have to worry about non-subscription time limits.

The following qeury works better (it leaves out the artists' journals):"under 2000 listeners"+indie site:http://www.last.fm/musicPop it into Google, change "indie" for the genre you want (or add more to filter further). You can change the results by only showing the last 24 hours, week, month and so forth.

    Re: Use Google

Never thought of finding stuff in last.fm that way around. This search gives a lot of nice music:
    "free download" instrumental metal site:http://www.last.fm/music
You can exclude artists you heard recently or commented on by "-[username]"

Shuffler.fm is also using this tag as one of their channels: http://shuffler.fm/channels/tagged/under%202000%20listeners 0_o

Too bad it doesn't directly scrobble, use Exfm (http://ex.fm/) in Chrome to have a workaround.

Awesome, this works out pretty well :) been looking for a way to find certain genre bands that are still unknown.
