Writing in a pubs back room close to their housing estate, The Bayview gave the band their name and allowed them to get about making it as a young band in the real world. Considering they were all born after 1986 it may be considered odd by some that they state their songwriting influences as Crowded House, the Beatles & Squeeze.
With music the only means by which to put a roof over their heads and food on the table the band then began to live a MONKEES style existence, living and rehearsing in an old backstage room at the Doghouse, a well respected Dundee venue. These self taught, spontaneous kids casually blew away other established bands at every subsequent gig, and soon gathered massive local respect. The maniacal fans loyally followed, closely attached to the band.

The View have arrived just in time to give us back true rock & roll spirit with a basis in great songwriting. In this release they have provided a perfect four-piece soundtrack to everyday life. With Coming Down, the band kick the door down and introduce themselves with a first take blast of angst before moving onto the anthemic Streetlights, the live performance of which regularly attracts a march toward the stage by a gathering of fans with arms aloft.

Screamin n Shoutin is more than just your average boy-meets-girl, then meets-her-sister-later-on pop ditty, whose quirky beats underline this bands self belief. As far as Face for the Radio is concerned well, ahem, ahem, not just a great song title, and worthy of the DVD promo filmed during recording and giving you the chance to see the band at their most honest.

Now that the View have signed to James Endeacott's label '1965 records' the future seems undoubtedly secure for the View, and also makes this limited edition debut record highly sought after...

I'm not from Dundee, not even from Scotland or UK,...but Dundee rocks!!!! Just the name of the town tells you that the guys coming from there can not be normal! :)
