  • A new album from Soleil Vert in 2009!

A fourth Soleil Vert album in 2009!

"Génétiquement modifié is now available in full on last.fm!

As a concept album about genetically modified food, Génétiquement modifié is made of interrupted sequences, spliced fragments, all modified in the lab at the cellular level usign foreign dna... translated into sound manipulation and textures.

Heavy bass pedal notes under harsh percussion and flickering synths. Tangerinesque monosynth solos over a minimal tapestry. Glitch, ambient, minimal, this album is a departure from the techniques Soleil Vert used before. This is Soleil Vert, but Genetically Modified!

Leaning towards harsh beats at first, with TocarPremière mutation opening in the vein of Autechre and all, with a very classic industrial sound, then going towards TocarPoison, one of the very strong tracks in defining Soleil Vert's sound for this album. After some more broken beats, TocarDocteur Frankenfood appears in a more melodic fashion reminiscent of Jean-Michel Jarre... Other notable nod to the past is TocarSynthétique versus organique giving a flasback to Tangerine Dreams fans...

Some fresh sounding takes on classic feels that can please fans of Pink Floyd to King Crimson, with some new territories explored along the lines of and mixed together in various proportions, "Génétiquement modifié" is a must try for discerning contemporary instrumental electonica listeners.

What is the Connection Between Music and Kabbalah?

Music and Kabbalah... What is the connection between them? Everyone has a conception of what music is, but not everyone, by far, knows what Kabbalah is.

The essence of Kabbalah is shrouded in secrecy, but there has always been an interest in Kabbalah. According to legends, one who knows Kabbalah and masters its secrets can control our world and the spiritual worlds that influence our world, revealing its past, present and future.

Kabbalah is the science of the structure of the universe, the developmental laws of the spiritual worlds and our world, and the laws of man's purpose.

Kabbalah is a science of the impact of human desires on the surrounding world.

All Kabbalistic books are written in the language of feelings and desires. This language is unique and strictly scientific, employing graphs, formulae and diagrams. It explains how to alter our desires in order to purposefully influence the entire world. Through such graphs and schemes, Kabbalah describes one's feelings, the person’s soul. Music also speaks to the person in a language of feelings and emotions, and as such, is close to Kabbalah.

What is music? It is an emotion captured in its evolvement. Only music can deliver the process of transforming feelings through time. That is why, to those who have not yet perceived the spiritual world, the music of Kabbalah provides a certain analogy of the impression of spirituality that is felt by the Kabbalist.

The more evolved a person’s feelings, the more one will delight in what is heard. In music, a sensitive person can open an entire world for themselves, undergoing different emotional states from bliss to tragedy. And the more one develops one’s feelings, the more intricately he will sense that which the music transmits.

In much the same way, one who studies Kabbalah cultivates appropriate inner instruments for comprehending spirituality, through which spiritual information can be perceived. As a musician looks into notes and hears music through his- or her inner sensation, a Kabbalist, while reading Kabbalistic texts, senses the spiritual world within.

A person’s very first spiritual sensation when spirituality is revealed, is thankfulness to the Creator. One begins to sense this higher power and sees how it brought him out of a dead-end existence into an infinite, flawless world of absolute awareness and perfection. It is this sensation that Rav Baruch Ashlag (Rabash) transmitted through his music to the words of the psalm:

I thank you for saving my soul from death
    My eyes from tears
    My feet from entering hell.

The great Kabbalists who wrote the holy books depict the secrets of the universe, and we are also privileged to the melodies created by the great Kabbalists Yehuda Ashlag and his son Baruch Ashlag. Through the language of feelings, their melodies express spiritual sensations and information.
Rav Yehuda Ashlag attained all of the universe’s secrets, and depicted them in his compositions, the Sulam (Ladder) Commentary to The Zohar, Talmud Eser Sefirot (The Study of the Ten Sefirot)... and he also implanted them in his melodies.

The existing location of the soul in the spiritual world is referred to as its root. The roots of souls differ. Souls descend into our world and incarnate in bodies. As the roots of souls differ, the objectives that each soul must complete in our world differ as well. That is why each body is nothing more than a mechanism for completing the soul’s plan of development.

The person begins to feel attracted to spirituality, a striving to his spiritual root, desires to attain it right now, to be able to sense all the worlds today, while still living in this world.
Kabbalistic music reveals and develops the person’s spiritual potential.

Kabbalistic melodies are not subjected to typical musical analysis. From the point of view of classical music, these melodies may appear banal in their structure and musical language.

But those persons with an inclination for the ascension of their souls in this lifetime, who wish to attain the Upper World and the entire universe, sense in this music something beckoning them into the unexplored.

We do not know how our musical comprehension is structured. Why do we feel the major chords in a different emotional and sensible tone than the minor ones? Why do we sense the major as something brighter, more open, and happier than the minor?
Many musicians with perfect musical hearing see colors in notes, chords, and tones. No one knows how this occurs and why such associations of color, sound, taste, and sensations appear within us. No one knows the structure of our receptors, which perceive absolutely immaterial information.

Kabbalists, however, understand how these devices work within us, because they know the structure of our soul. As such, Kabbalists can instill spiritual information into musical sounds. That is why Kabbalistic music is a means of infusing the inner world of the person with information of everything that surrounds him.

What the music of our world contains is connected to the personal, earthly sensations and emotions of the composers. Composers have always aspired to reflect the predicaments of creation in music, yet these attempts had never gone beyond a mere surmise or personal feeling.

Only melodies written by Kabbalists actually enable us to enter into sensations of eternity, sensations of soul’s movement, pushing us to an understanding of our essence as a part of one eternal universe.

Kabbalistic music is written by great Kabbalists as an expression of their spiritual sensations. It is inherently located at a high spiritual level.

A spiritual sensation cannot be forgotten. That which was played and felt once remains and can be repeated at any moment. This feeling can later be manipulated, creating most refined shades of emotion. In every melody there is a different feeling corresponding to each particular spiritual state. Due to the elevated level of its composer, each melody speaks of the ethereal as it elevates one across the spiritual world - to eternity and perfection.

    http://www.kabbalah.info/rus/content/view/frame/4759?/rus/content/view/full/4759&main

    Rav Michael Laitman, PhD.
    The Language of Kabbalistic Music

Spiritual sensations can also be transmitted using the language of music. The advantage of this language is that even a person who has not mastered any other Kabbalistic language, not yet seeing the spiritual information, can be emotionally inspired even if a little, by the sensations of the spiritual world experienced by a Kabbalist who created this music. This is feasible because the melody that enters a person penetrates him without any resistance, for it is not transformed by thought or mind, perception or analysis. Rather, it strikes the heart directly. Without realizing it, a person starts sensing from within himself or herself certain actions carried out by music or what is hidden it in.
What is so interesting and special about Kabbalistic music? It is what a Kabbalist senses in the spiritual world. He senses the Upper World, the manifestation of the Creator. This manifestation can be expressed in a form of poems, songs, melodies, etc. – in any possible forms of recording inner sensations of man. However, out of all the languages, all ways of delivering information from person to person, the language of music is the most immediate, the most accessible, the most direct, requiring no explanations. It is built of the fact that we share common feelings, common perception, and this is because we belong to the human species populating this planet. This music makes approximately the same effect on people of completely different mentality, who are not used to this kind of music.
When you listen to the Kabbalistic melodies, simply try sensing them directly, open up for their perception, so that these melodies can exert a direct influence upon you, penetrating you directly. Later you will see and feel that listening to these melodies, even from time to time, gives you the same results as many hours of serious Kabbalistic studies. These melodies articulate the connection between man and the Creator. This connection consists of two components: the desire (Kli, the spiritual vessel, the soul) and filling with the Light (sensing the Creator). If a person, a Kabbalist, wants to show how he perceives the Creator, what desire he employs to approach Him, we hear sad music. On the other hand, if he talks about fulfillment of his desires, we perceive such music as light, joy, and occasionally as sweet yearning.
Although Kabbalistic melodies sound sad, have a melancholic tint to them, we should realize that we only hear them this way. You nevertheless have to keep in mind that a Kabbalist sensing these melodies feels enthusiasm, greatness, and sublimity. Meaning, this is something that just lifts you up and keeps you in the air. Kabbalistic melodies convey precisely this sensation, so do not apprehend them as suffering, but as admiration, ascension, as a flavor of being connected with the Creator.
All Kabbalistic melodies express certain spiritual states. While it is beneficial to listen to them, we should constantly remember that while doing so, we try penetrating the information which gets transferred in the process of listening, since these sounds also contain a wave that neither our hearing or heart is able to pick up. Music affects our "Reshimot", our informational, spiritual genes, from within. This wave develops them. This way, we start to sense more subtle spiritual layers.

Question: For some reason, when I listen to the Kabbalistic music, I get sad. But music exists in order to uplift one's mood, doesn't it?

If you existed at the levels recounted by this music, you would dissolve in the ocean of bounty, delight, and the light as a child does in the hands of his mother. However, since the light of this music comes to you from afar, it carries all the information of all the rungs that separate you and the degree from which this music emanates. In these sounds, you hear suffering, longing of the Kelim-vessels-souls for the light.
But as you ascend higher and higher, instead of melancholy you feel more and more tenderness and bliss from uniting with the Beloved. Music is suffering for the remote and delight for the intimate. It is like when you are hungry but see a smorgasbord, your hunger is joy and delight. But if you are hungry and the table is empty, then this hunger brings you suffering.
Reveal the Creator – the Source of perfection, eternity, delight, and you will not feel your desire as suffering; it will be the means for feeling life!
  • Assassin's Hand: The Album

    Out 28 2009, 18h37 por BetteDillinger

    From: Diluvian Records
    Re: “Assassin’s Hand”/Bette Dillinger
Future Release Date: November 23, 2009

Diluvian Records is proud to announce the forthcoming release of the album “Assassin’s Hand” by Bette Dillinger. Also on this date the Official Bette Dillinger website, www.bettedillinger.com, will reflect this new direction Ms Dillinger has taken. It also contains “freebees”, communications, and opportunities to win copies of the album.

In the words of Ms Dillinger: “”Assassin’s Hand” comes from a phrase in “Oedipus Rex”. I was instantly in love with the phrase because it just jumped out at me as I was finishing up this album, which I was working very diligently on, but feeling increasingly anxious about releasing it because of personal issues. The work is both about nightmares and consequences. This seems to be the year of death of some very famous people, and this cultural nausea is reflected in this entire album. However, it is neither “goth” nor “gloomy and sparse” which I felt were approaches that needed to be challenged by me. I still adhere to the principles of Brecht.”

“My first emphasis is on the ability of the song to reach the listener. The production has improved, if I may say so myself. I am really happy about that! The various subjects addressed are love, death, wealth, poverty, control (this is always a theme), Stanley Kubrick, Oedipus, Greek myth, Mother Kali, and of course certain individuals that are named in the songs themselves. This is a record of death and transformation, with the emphasis on transformation.”

Uploaded for your pleasure are two tracks from the album, “Black Widow,” and “Private Eddie”…they can be found on last fm, and Reverbnation. On 11/23/09 you can find the album at your favorite distribution site (itunes, etc). The website is the lair of my obsessions. It will change to fit the theme on 11/23/09.

This album will be available 11/23/09. I expect I will not be competing with Taylor Swift fans ;) I think only an adult mind would appreciate it, and it is meant for mature psyches.

    Happy Haunting,

    Bette Dillinger
