Bollocks, I'm going to the Foundry for the final Noise=Noise basement series installment. Seriously why do all the shows in London go on the same night!

Seriously, ha! 3 shows come along at once. That's pretty rubbish.

I quite like Dolphins Into the future. Ha, I can't comment on the name as some people think my name is pretty rubbish too.

Last night at the Noise=Noise gig there was a really good artist called error playing. I'd recommend his stuff.

error you say? fat worm of..?

dolphins "into" TF, i don't get it.. i've had some shitty bands names too though so i guess i'm no better. best sticking to one's real life name maybe to be taken as a "serious artist" - ha! this is interesting actually, do you think that as soon as people start to use their real life name they instantly get some kinda extra kudos as a musician? i kinda do take people who do this more seriously in a way, its like yr putting yourself 'out there' as some kind of brand.. trying to think of examples : like, what if kylie minoise suddenly started calling himself by his real name lee ... (can't remember his second name of the time of my head!) would we be more inclined to consider his music differently? perhaps thats a bad example because km is very performance art as well as a musically based project and having a persona makes sense but do you know what i mean? like what is jack rose was called something quite random like 'deckchair' - would that make sense??

    am i making sense??

From listening to the myspace tracks it's not as good as the performance the other night.

Maybe its a complex where if you go under your real name you get more kudos because you've got the balls to put your name against your music. Maybe?

I mean I'd have no problem if people wanted to list my music as Paul Watson. No big deal to me.

  • Tiny Vipers and The puddle parade.

It was ok. Though, loads of people seemed to be impressed by Tiny Vipers.

  • Night of the Unexpected with several acts including Talibam! and Pan Sonic.
Pan Sonic was great, though I should have used some earplugs I guess...at this moment my ears are kinda numb.

there was some kaoss pad noise improvisation involved , as well as italian singing ^__^

  • I saw Adam Green, Little Joy and The Dead Trees a few weeks ago. These are the last shows I went.

  • this weekend i was at Incubate festival (previously known as ZXZW)
Some of the things I saw:
    Cam Deas
    The Caretaker
    Jandek
    Gregg Kowalsky
    James Blackshaw
    Annelies Monseré & Jessica Bailiff
    Die! Die! Die!
    Caspian
    An Emeral City

    and more

Stuff I sadly didn't see: Big City Orchestra, Blues Control, Ashtray Navigations, Aufgehoben and Lasse Marhaug.

The festival was great again and I had a good time. Hopefully next year I can make it again, and also see some more noisy and droney stuff which this year was mostly on the friday when I could only see the caretaker.

  • Last I went to was SunnO))) playing Grimm Robe Demos in its entirety, back in...August, I think. Horse the band in November, Melt-Banana in December.

  • last show was poison the well, fuckin incredible. one of the best live bands i've seen. might go to the red chord or p.o.s. in october, melt-banana in december[2], maaabye new found glory (a definite guilty pleasure, they suck so much but are soooo fun) or slightly stoopid

  • both of the last 2 are in noviembre

  • Went to two shows last week:
    Gas

Staplerfahrer & Franz Fjödor and some guys I just can't remember the name of.

    was both really nice

  • Thomas Köner and it was ok, not amazing as I hoped.
There was this woman doing spoken word through the whole piece...she was horrible. The music was really good though.

  • Saw julie mittens and Cave last Wednesday after my own performance (orphax).

Was a nice evening and against all expectations I clearly was the loudest act of the evening :o

    • Smirnon disse...
    • Assinante

goddamn i would be tremendously pissed off if they messed up Köner with rambling

  • they did...

my last show was yesterday and I saw Ruistuin, PAL, Staplerfahrer and finished the evening off with a heavy set of noisy vocal drones by yours truly (me aka orphax)

and in a bit I am going to see Espers

  • last night, devo! totally ruled. i'd bought tickets for dinosaur jr in portland the other night but i ended up being too poor to afford to rent a car to go down there. bummers.

i can finally see Luigi Russolo's work first hand. im not sure about the more contemporary composers except Oliveros.

i'm also going to see airway in a few weeks and john duncan.

  • It's been a while but the last show I went to was Cannabis Corpse/Tombs/Infernal Stronghold at Alley Katz
