Cyndi Lauper - Bring Ya To The Brink has to be my favourite so far.

Helicopter Girl - Metropolitan, and Sam Sparro's and The Whip's debuts are up there too.

Also I know it wasn't in 2008 but just discovered Alice In Videoland and their album Outrageous is one of my faves now. Sooooooo good :D

65DaysofStatic: The Distant & Mechanised Glow of Eastern European Dance Parties EP

Lots of absolutely amazing music has come out so far, but this release takes the cake. Moving in a new direction, 65daysofstatic has released their best work yet. Well produced, beautiful, amazing, intricate, and unique sounds abound in this playful EP. Please pick it up if you haven't yet.

PS - The MGMT release is solid, but loses it's appeal after a few plays. Some tracks are brilliant, and some are boring.

Did the MGMT CD come out this year? I was spinning it back in October, it must have leaked or something.

Currently loving that disc, and the new Girl Talk, and the new Deerhunter, and the Atlas Sound album. Don't know what I'd called the best yet though. I won't even try to declare that until the new Of Montreal CD drops this fall - my guess is that that will take the cake.

however the year is not up Im hanging out to hear the new (i think debut) album from VAN SHE if their remixes of Feist, Martina Topley-Bird, Utah Saints & Ladyhawke to go by it should be brilliant!

btw Cut Copy's Hearts On Fire Single hits the stores in Tasmania soon carnt wait to hear Calvin Harris remix

Maybe Extrawelt or SCSI-9. I've had a techno year it seems.

Kelley Polar, Friendly Fires, Cut Copy and TVOTR albums were all excellent. Hopefully in 2009 i'll have more time to listen to new stuff and actually start clubbing again :D
