This group exists for users of the venerable emacs, regardless of implementation.

Founded by 219.

“emacs” is a class of text editors, possessing an extensive set of features, that are popular with computer programmers and other technically proficient computer users. The two most common implementations of emacs are GNU Emacs and XEmacs, although others exist, such as MicroEMACS, mg, Zile, Freemacs, et al. If you use one of the many emacsen out there, this group is for you. Bonus points for people who use an emacs to participate in the group. For the purposes of this group, we are accepting users of vile , although it won't get you the points!
