Tag each other to fix your similar artists, get more radio play, reach more listeners. Open to all! Owner Approval so I can connect your artist to the group.

This group is especially for smaller artists (less than 5000 listeners) that have no, not enough or inappropriate tags. We of course also welcome non-musicians to join the group and support us!
And here's the idea: Anybody who joins should listen and then appropriately tag at least a few artists connected to this group. Tag single songs, whole albums, or the artist in general. Leave comments for what you like. Anything is good to get a not yet known artist up and spread their music. Come back everyonce in a while to check out new artists who joined the group.

Your band/artist will be added to the group's CONNECTED ARTISTS RADIO after you've joined. In case your private profile doesn't link to your artist's page please let the group leader know and they'll be added. As soon as a band goes over the 5000 listener barrier they'll be unlinked from this group and the respective radio station.

IMPORTANT: this group is NOT about 'collecting' a maximum of artists with less than 5000 listeners. It is rather about actively helping each other and listening to each others music, and of course eventually tagging it. It could therefore be usefull to let other users or group members know how you want them to tag your artists, albums or songs. Feel free to post some suggestions about that.

Anybody who has ideas about how to improve this group is very welcome to share their ideas. Thanks for your help!

Well I I am always grateful for tags on any of my music as I still seem to be stuck in having similar artists which are all unsigned and bear little or no relation to my music meaning that I get no new listeners http://www.last.fm/music/Musical+Mind+Control The more tags you can put the better! I had a similar problem with the connected artist radio just now. It kept showing the last.fm logo going round and round, I refreshed it a few times and the same thing. Eventually I pressed the fast forward button and it seemed to jolt it into action XD (So far anyway...)

The new similar artists are strange if not outrageous. We are all tagged w/ Cooperative Tagging, so it's not so surprising to me. As julius4004 said last month, he uses this tag for our radio station but others are using it as well. This is likely why we have this new similarity. I suggest we all double check our tags & remove Cooperative Tagging from any songs, bands, or albums we have tagged so.

hm. yeah. this put aside, how do you feel about the similar artists recalculation that just happened? Kind of funny, isn't it? Seems like listening and tagging each others bands in the group made our music become more similar!?!! Not so great for some of us when I look at some artist pages who have changed drastically and not very accurate to the styles that their music has been tagged... oh well... thoughts?

That might be a factor to consider, but on the other hand, there are alot of other tags being used that doesn't have to do with the sound of the artist. Like geographical tags, cities countries, scenes, people etc.
