Too few swedes are members...that's why the discussions suck.

This group doesn't really have any discussion concerning Yngwie's technique. So I am starting this topic of how to play general Yngwie style since I guess a lot of people who actually listen to Yngwie's music are guitar players...I believe it's essential to cover the style to be able to cover his songs/solos by ear ( which will save us a lot of money since then we don't have to buy any tab books).
    For Yngwie's trademark:
    1. Start with an A minor scale. (no sharps or flats)
    2. Sharp the 7th and you get A harmonic minor.
    3. The third mode starting on ionian ( A harmonic minor) is phrygian.
Which then will be E phrygian which is the same notes as A harmonic minor but you start on the E instead of A.
    4. In E phrygian ( strum an E chord) Incorporate diminished arpeggios starting on the major third of E which is G# . The notes are in minor third intervals. Do an arpeggio over the four first frets on the three treble strings. Move up a minor third from G# on the first string (4 frets inclusive) etc.
(melodic minor is for bluesy Yngwie style so check that when you want to play blues.)

If you listen to Yngwie's records you may notice that the riffs are often based on E phrygian. And the soloing based on all the above scales actually! A lot of them are also pattern based.

    Can you play Yngwie style?
Then how do you do it?
