Brigitte Bardot - Ça pourrait changer

My favourite ye-ye-Song? Defitely Brigitte Bardot's Ça Pourrait Changer. Have a look at the Refrain:

"Ne souris pas, prends garde à toi.
    Crois-moi, la prochaine fois,
    Attention !
    Yè yè yè yè !
    Ça pourrait changer !"

By the way: you can listen to it here.

    My YeYe Picks

    1. France Gall- "Pollichinelle" (baroque sounds + France Gall= greatness!)
    2. Chantal Goya- "Laisse Moi"
    3. Jacqueline Taieb "Le Printemps au Paris" (anything by her really, everything she sings from the '60s is timeless)
    4. Francoise Hardy- "J' Suis D'Accord" (Not my all time favorite song by her, but this was my first yeye song and started my love for the genre)
    5. Elizabeth- "Je Suis Sublime" + "Madame Superman" (I wish there was more by her. In my music fantasies, she'd have recorded a whole concept LP.)
    6. Chantal Kelly- Caribou EP (Even my mom sings along to the "...Mon Petite Travaille! Travaille! Travaille! Travaaaille!..")
    7. Jeanette- "Il Me Plait Bien Ton Frere" + "Jeremey" (Another music fantasy, Camera Obscura covering Jeanette. I think it'll work.)
    8. Les Miladys- "Jazz a Go Go" (Best France Gall cover, period)
    9. Caroline "Mister a Go Go"
    10. Stone- "Perdue Dans Une Couloir"

  • Very, very tough call - but a personal top ten (in no particular order) might go something along the lines of......

Mizo - La Femme Au Volant
Françoise Hardy – La Maison Ou J'ai Grandi
Chantal Kelly - Anything by this Mademoiselle for sure!!
    Les Intrigantes - Faut Savoir
    Violaine - Dam' dou ah!
Catherine Ribeiro - Rien n'y fait, rien n'y fera
    Helene April - Ta Vallee
Gillian Hills - Rentre Sans Moi
    Karine - Console Toi
    Elsa - Ecoutez

    Je suis fini!

  • Arlette Zola - Mathématiques élémentaire.
Jane Birkin - Lolita go home.

    :)

    Right now.

    I say "ye YE!"

Pick one? You are definitely asking the impossible!

I made a CD comp recently for a friend, called "I say Ye-ye". This probably contains the lions share of my favorite ye-ye tracks, but there are so many great ones out there!

I must admit I got Spiked Candy to thank for turning me on to a few of them! ;-) plus other blogs over the years - and comps like Boom bang a bang. There's some rave up numbers along side some classics.

    Ye-ye!!

    My Favorite Ye-Ye song

Currently, my most favorite is France Gall's last work with Serge Gainsbourg, which, though it might be too early to tell (I've only had it for a week), might be the best pop song I ever heard. It's hard to find actually. It's called "Je suis venue te dire que je m'en vais." I found it on Blowupdoll. It's still there, I believe.

Nadie me quiere porque soy un cabron
  • France Gall - Ella, Elle L'a
Francoise Hardy - Mon amie la rose
Jane Birkin - Yesterday Yes A Day

    La Machine by Dani

Take a look at the video on YouTube. She absolutely epitomizes the era better than just about anyone.

Nadie me quiere porque soy un cabron
  • Jacqueline Taïeb – 7 Heures Du Matin

This is the sexiest sounding song ever recorded, I think. Anyway, my very favorite at the moment :)

    7 Heures Du Matin

  • France Gall- Laisse Tomber Les Filles Laisse Tomber Les Filles

The Hott Chick Under Your Bed!~.
