It's like a book club but for music!

It's like a book club but for music! Every week, a different member will get to pick an album for the entire group, then we'll discuss what each one of us thought about the album as a whole, the individual songs, everything.

The main idea is to discover/discuss great music that's out there. Doesn't have to be new music, could be classics or albums that got released 5 years ago.

Don't feel obligated to write a 5000 word essay. We just want to know Why do you like that album so much, as to recommend it to total strangers? Same thing for opinions on the album, no need to write a full review just tell us what you thought of it: Did you like it? Why?

Every member will *have to* participate, there is a "3 strikes you are out" policy.

The music style could be anything as long as it's good. :)

    Hi all, I just wanted to say goodbye before I leave the group. It's been swell, but I've clearly not been able to find or make the time to be a good, productive member. Plus, on a circular note, the low feedback makes it less compelling to contribute... Happy listening, and thanks for the new music I've discovered through you guys!

    Paragraph three up there in the group description is pretty much the only guideline for the reviews. The first album of the current cycle (if I'm not mistaken) is Harlem Shakes - Technicolor Health. You could still technically listen to the albums of last cycle and vote on them too. (cycle 6, the thread has a sticky)

    My musical preference is 80.79% similar to the Weekly Album Appreciation Club group. Musically, I fit in! Ran this script since I realized I had only listened to 3 of the albums that have been reviewed so far....I guess 80% is pretty close, hope I can find something new for most everyone when my turn comes around.

    Hi everyone. This seems like a constructive idea for a group, I listen to a wide variety of music. Always looking for more, which explains my love for last.fm. Any guidelines for reviewing the albums lying around anywhere?

    Hello everyone! I know we have not been that active lately due to users not turning in their picks but hopefully we'll be able to end this cycle then move to vote for the album of the cycle/year because there's not much time left for the year then start anew in January. That's when our new members, Xemper, gpjunior5 and gmaurice will be eligible to pick.

    I don't think we'll have an album for next week (08/31). That user has not logged in in a month and he's never participated in the group to begin with so I booted him. Take the extra week to catch up on the other albums!
