We want separate pages for artists with the same name!

It's really annoying when two or even more different bands with the same name share the same Last.fm page... Can't something be done about it???

I'm NOT taking any band's side - this is just a struggle for all bands / artists to gain their own Last.fm pages. Maybe a bit utopian idea, but no matter how insignificant it may seem, I'm doing everything that's in my power ;)

ADDRESSED TO PEOPLE WHO CHANGE THEIR OPINIONS AS OFTEN AS THEY CHANGE SOCKS ---> BEFORE YOU JOIN THIS GROUP, USE YOUR HEAD A LITTLE TO DECIDE WHETHER YOU REALLY WANT TO JOIN OR NOT.
AFTER ALL, ACT ACCORDING TO YOUR MENTAL STATE.

Unfortunately, I've already reached the limit of 200 connected artists, so I won't be able to connect anymore artists... :/

All other suggestions are more than welcome! :)

Absolutely. Otherwise there's no way to listen to the "1980" jazz-metal band, despite them having a profile here (seriously, they chose the most un-googleable band name after !!!) This isn't a hard change either. Just include a disambiguate feature, it's the way wikipedia separates their same-name articles. I can't fathom how nobody has noticed this massive problem.

Cacophony (Jason Becker & Marty Friedman), Grand Prix, Streets (with Kansas Vocalist Steve Walsh), (The) Arrows, Charlie, Aina, Annica, Aphrodite, Chopper, Excalibur, Plastique ("If you go you break my Heart" - german one hit wonder), Fiona (Flanagan),Phenomena, ... too many to be named :-(

Also true. Although that hasn't happened to me yet. It's me and the punk Lemuria against metal Lemuria. Me and cool indie pop Maniac against some grime artist from the UK.

Funny thing is the artists sharing names are always from a completely different genre from each other, ensuring animosity between the fans.

You're right about that. If people got all album and song names right there would be no problem.

How would it actually work with different pages for different artists with the same name? They really should fix that, but there is no easy way. How would Last fm separate them? Any ideas?

Considering all track information gets automatically collected from scrobbles and artist related information are mostly user contributed, one would expect last.fm to do the one little thing right.
