    Which book are you reading?

I'd like to know which book you're reading at the moment. I've just finished "Reaper Man" from Terry Pratchett. It's been very funny, Ireally liked it. Anyway, now I went on to "Child Of An Ancient City" from Tad Williams and Nina Kiriki Hoffman. It's only a novel, sad enough. Anyway, it seems to be great again as anything from Tad Williams I#ve read so far has been amazing!

What about you? Which book are you reading?

The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri, and The Sandman #9: "Tales in the Sand", the first number The Doll's House, by Neil Gaiman.

For the last weeks I read 'The Tale of the Horned God' by Andreas Bull-Hansen, he's a Norwegian author.

He has a homepage with some excerpts: bull-hansen.com.

This six-volume book series is a story of gods and is a really complex saga, it's not like the fantasy books which are so popular nowadays ...

    Anyone already read them?

    No, never heard of him.

I've now finished "Child Of An Ancient City". It has been amazing, I really like Tad Williams :D
Now I'm moving on to fool's gold part 2 ("Wild Magic") from Jude Fisher. I'm sure I'll love it since the first book has been great.

I've read it, as well as Lushons Plater and Profetier: Memoarer om John Thiersen. They're all excellent, but I don't think any of them have been translated to English.

I'm currently reading Wolves of the Calla by Stephen King (book 5 of his excellent The Dark Tower series) and The Darkness That Comes Before by R. Scott Bakker, the first book of The Prince of Nothing trilogy.

i've just started on the Narnia series

Fairy tales are more than true, not because they tell us dragons exist, but that they can be beaten.

Have you read the WoT series and enjoyed it why not join the Wheel of Time group

    Into the heart of earth

    Action comedy from greyhawk stories

    Walk lightly with joy
  • I just finished "Eragon" by Christopher Paolini and now started "Eldest", the second book of the series. At first I wasn't too sure if I should read them actually coz they were said to be children's books, but after reading the first one I can only say they're great fantasy (and honestly, I wouldn't let a child read them, coz partly they're far too brutal)

  • i am reading now the sword of truth trilogy.

  • Terry Pratchet, several of his books. His books are just great, he has so much humour.

  • sword of truth is shit I did not even finish the first book .boring as hell and the author expresses some politicl ideas which I personally cannot tolerate . stay away .... now I am finnishing a collection of Edgar Alan Poe's works .pretty good especially in the descriptions of mental illness and despair

After recently having finished Elaine Cunningham's and Ed Greenwoods "the City of Splendors" (which is a fantastic read if you're into the Forgotten Realms), I started Terry Pratchett's "Going Postal" which has me laughing out loud quite frequently. :)

I'm reading more books than just that one but the rest isn't of the fiction variety. Because of my chronic multitasking when it comes to reading I'm not very quick at finishing novels - which may be a good thing 'cause I'm already spending more than enough money on books as it is. ;)

Just finished "1984" by George Orwell. I know, its actually no fantasy book, but its been so great that i couldnt help me making a post here.
Its amazing how the author is able to draw a world of terror and darkness which appears absolutely realistic and logical. Several times while reading i just put the book away, trying to comprehend what i had just read.
So guys, if there are people amongst you not knowing "1984", BUY IT!.

Just finished this one. Awesome work! I decided not to continue with the Song of Ice And Fire but rather stick with this series and go on to book number three of Fool's Gold. This should be advise enough reading it. ;-)

I read this one sometime ago too. I also had to put the book away several times, but from different reason. I was either terified of what was happening or afraid to read further to find out what was going to happen. I have to say the book his really of very high quality, it will definately leave a strong impression (either negative or positive) in you. I would strongly recommnend to anyone to read it, althought i would not read it again (it was very frightening experience for me - and i am not the kind of person, who is too easily frightened).
Conclusion: deep thouhgt, high quality read, a bit mind torture

  • Started reading all the Harry Potter books again due to the movie and final book's near release, upto Goblet of Fire.

I read them, too, and didn't like them. But hi other books (previous and following ones) are great. These three books are his first ones and there is too much fighting and too less nice characters in it. Later on, Drizzt, Cattie-Brie and Wulfgar will become nice chars, but in the beginning they are just so stereotype...

I've just finished Jude Law's "Fool's Gold" trilogy. The ending has been a bit strange and too fast, but still I liked it. Now I'm going on with the "Song Of Ice And Fire", currently book number 5 (in German, so 3 in English). It's awesome! Maybe the best fantasy out there!
