Viva Machine are carving their own unique signature into the vibrant Welsh scene combining the raw intensity of At the drive in with the slick 3 part harmonies of Yes whilst hinting at electro heroes, The Knife, where fat synth-bass clashes with a Queens of the stone age-esque groove. This all wrapped in a pop sensibility, with infectious melody and futuristic lyricism. Live, they strike the rare balance between a huge, room-filling sound and a raucous, intense performance.

In April 2006 Viva Machine were snapped up by Probation management, Cardiff. Shortly after this they undertook their first full UK tour with chart toppers The Automatic, followed by a tour of their own, completing 28 shows in 31 days. Their debut single ‘My Jet Set Radio’, released on a small welsh independent label (TPF records) sold out of its first pressing despite having little radio play and no video.

After spending the Christmas period locked in the studio Viva were keen to hit the road again touring with American electro stars Shiny Toy Guns throughout February and March, making a few firm friends along the way. Keen to spread their wings they recently headlined a festival in Palma and are due to hit the road again this autumn.

Their energetic live show has earned them many impressive reviews including Kerrang! 4/5 - (Compass Point, Cardiff) and Rocksound. The latter tipped Viva as a band to watch in the December issue; and with “an impressive arsenal of tunes already in the bag”, an average age of 21 and a desire to take on the world the future looks anything but quiet. Viva la Machine!
