Seriously, do they know how silly they look? Visual-Kei = Garbage-Kei

Japanese music is stricken with a plague. Legions of people first think of Visual-Kei when they think Japanese rock. We must purge this image and enlighten the many.

There are some exceptions. X Japan did it right (hide is a the only actual guitarist from any Visual-Kei band, the rest are posers) and Luna Sea stoped looking silly before it was too late.

We love Japanese music for the right reasons. Not because they look pretty or can cross dress better then we would like to see.
We love Japanese music because the best bands are normal people like you and I. Not farmed from a scene of make-up wearing fan boys.
We love Japanese music for the positive and heartfelt lyrics. Not for the cookie monster vocals drawing out situations we can not relate to.
We love Japanese music because when we first heard it we heard something that changed out lives. Not because we saw it on a T-Shirt at Hot Topic.
If you have more reason, please submit.

Fix "New-School Visual kei gives real visual kei a bad name" sure some bands only did it to fit in or to make money or what have you but not all. i listen to visual kei for the music and the atmosphere created around it i think music is art and so is fashion right? so why is it always necessarily a bad thing to mix these art forms together into one? although i don't only listen to visual kei music but there are more exceptions i think than x japan if you look hard enough.

Ridiculously true, I used to listen to Visual Kei heavily from about 2003-2007 and while some bands are solid talented musicians, most are mindless excuses for a band who make money by doing fanservice and pumping out boring uninspired music.

Don't like them just because they are looking like that? It's stupid ;/ In vk and "normal" jrock bands there are good and bad vocals, guitars and so on. And there are a lot of people (me too) that loves vk not because their apperance (it's creepy and I would like to see them in tshirts) but because of the deep lyrics that touch heart.

No one forces you to listen to anything you don't like you know... You can listen to any Japanese music you want and let others enjoy the rest. Just stop talking shit about something you don't know.. People who listen to Jmusic most of the time haven't even heard of VK ( That goes for Japanese and non-japanese people) so your group's name is a lie itself... Because creating a group about something you HATE is pretty much a waste of time right ?

Ok . Judging something without even TRYING to listen to it makes you so much dumber than the stupidest VK fangirl.. As for VK guitarists... Even if some of them might be crappy players some definately aren't .. I love SOME Visual Kei band BECAUSE OF THEIR MUSIC and the emotions that comes with it. And btw just try to play some Visual kei guitar parts like Versailles or Phantasmagoria and THEN you can talk. Anyway this group is so out of place : people DO NOT think about VK first when you mention Japanese music or even japanese Rock. And some Vk "fans" are not "prepubescent 15 year old girls"... Thank you.

This group is correct- Japan some fantastic bands out their that get fuck all exposure due to shitty visual kei bands being pushed by prepubescent 15 year old girls. Boris, shinjuku filth, BBQ Chicken, Cruyff in the Bedroom, Coaltar of the Deepers...the list goes on.

I don't have anything against visual kei, as a musical genre it's quite alright. BUT I hate that they all look and sound more or less -exactly the same-. I can't for the life of me tell the difference between the majority of those bands.
