heh, i could barely aspire to such goal.

1 month vegetarian, and damn proud of it !

  • I am Vegan (totally vegan from just a few months, but i was vegetarian/almost vegan for around 6 years...)but i became it after training myself to it (and that was hard, also because it's not easy to find vegan products here in italy, especially in my region)and i'm shure veganism should not be threated like a total dogma(that sounds more like a religion..)..i mean,i'm really proud of my choice and i'm shure i'm goin on with it 'till i'll can...but saying, from the beginning, that being just vegetarian is totally bullshit, for me,is a wrong approach...obviously i apriciate more when someone is vegan, like me,but if someone has no possibility of being totally vegan(some people could be sick,or living in places where they can't find alternatives to meat, cheese or other animal products, don't forget that a lot of poeple in this world is just poor and are lucky if have something to eat!) but actually try and fight for animal rights, that would not make him/her an asshole.. plus, the question is..why are you vegan?? i am because i'm against animal abuse and enslavement,i'm shure it's without any sense except for those bastards who get rich on it,it's bad for animals as well as humans...but being vegan is not that easy for everyone! we're all different, and living in different situations..i'm not eating/using any animal products'cause living in this city that would probably come from their pure sufference.....but if i could live in a more primitive and natural contest my choice would maybe be different...for example, being shure that a chicken is livin free or,at least, without a real abuse on it,i would eat her eggs!!...what is important, for me,is try to respect the other creatures (and i would love to have more respect for vegetals too) and try to live in harmony with the nature around me.......but i'm conscious that is really hard, almost impossible living and being involved,as everyone,in this shitty grey society...what i can do is trying and do my best for change what's happening around me,starting from myself, then trying to educate(not to constrict!) who's living next to me,listening to my body and overall to my hearth........cheers,(veg)beers and beans to everyone...and if YOU CAN(if your life gives you this possibility):GO VEGAN!!!

Vegetarin, too. Drinking milk and eating cheese doesn't kill animals, when you take the right ones.
So for me its not bullshit :)
For once, I'm gonna skip the sarcasm and get right to the point. Males don't produce milk. What good are they to dairy farmers but beef? Female cows stop producing at around 5 years old. What good are they to dairy farmers but beef? Most importantly, since when is slavery morally acceptable?

    I'm a bullshit person. :)

I don't contradict myself. I am doing what I believe to be right for me. If that is bullshit I can live with that.
In which case, you're no more of a hypocrit than a Neo-Nazi who harasses and kills Jewish people. I mean, you haven't CLAIMED to make morally sound dietary choices, and indeed you don't make them. There ya go, I guess. Hooray for self-centered "moral" reasoning. :/InDarknessLies said:
Still vegetarians are doing seriously much more to stop mistreating of the animals, than most people. We actually do care. And if you buy ecological milk and eggs, the animals haven't been mistreated <3
....First off, says who? They slap a label or some possibly contrived story on the carton and you just believe them? You must be a liberal. Furthermore, I'm pretty sure enslavement counts as mistreatment. Finally, you do more than bloodmouths, but vegans do much more than you. You are still an issue. You have not "done enough". <3qwertyyyyy said:
i'm trying to go vegan. like i don't eat any dairy/egg products i can see.

by that i mean, if dairy/egg products are on the ingredients' list, i won't eat it.

but if my all-bran cereal happens to have vitamin D that, during the extraction process, was somehow connected to an animal, I'm not totally going to boycott that product

because then there's nothing left to eat :(

    so i don't know if i qualify as a full-out vegan, but i'm trying.
...What are your circumstances? You can't...umm...get OTHER cereal with vitamin D? :/

    Dude.. get a grip.
Shouldn't your ultimate goal as a vegan be to get other people to convert? I don't think you're doing a great job of that by alienating people.
The most convincing arguments I've heard to go vegan (I'm currently trying it out for 1 month to see how I cope) are from people who have been understanding about my doubts, and they were the people that convinced me to try it in the long run. People like you just make me angry and dislike vegans, therefore making me not want to be one so I'm not associated with people like you. You are doing more harm than good.

  • Vegan. Woot.

Vegetarian, however I don't consume eggs and most milk products.

  • i'm vegetarian

  • I'd been vegetarian for 5 years before I suddenly developed a lactose intolerance. :( So now I've vegan... and my tummy is super happy about it!

  • i'm vegan. i sort of agree with op on his stance on vegetarianism, but at the same time there are reasons to not be vegan besides "hurr i can't live without cheese! durr it's too hard!"
although i do think that if anybody's vegetarian for moral reasons, veganism isn't a health risk for them, and and they have the money, they have no reason not to be vegan.
