Hi everyone, I saw her at the Barbican in July, nice to see a group too, She was mesmirising, I loved the whole evening, very entertaining. Here's a good review from the Guardian http://www.guardian.co.uk/culture/2009/jul/07/ute-lemper-review

Saw her live in 2003, at the Festival Hall,London; in fact I flew over from Northern Ireland for the concert. The place was packed, so I can't believe there aren't more Ute devotees out there. Her performance was world class and she stayed behind afterwards to sign autographs- the queue was a hundred long. I particularly like the Kurt Weill stuff, but I can see why she likes Tango music, Edith Piaff etc- it's all about passion. A particular favourite of mine is Surabaya Johnny. I don't even have a translation of the lyric, I don't think it's necessary. It's a song that plumbs the depth of despair, that other artists are afraid to touch.
