Most underrated band of all time?

Uriah Heep have got to be the most unjustly underrated band ever. They had everything - great vocalist, guitarist, and incredible songwriters (Ken Hensley/Byron). I know in certain parts of the world they still tour and have a pretty big fanbase but if any band deserves more recognition it's Uriah Heep. I'd take them over pretty much any 70s rock band.

Now this is all my opinion but I'm interested to see what other people think about the status Uriah Heep have.

agreed.

Well, i doubt that many people here will have a very different opinion since it's a Uriah Heep group. :-)

Even though you can't say they weren't successful, but in comparison with other bands I still feel like they are very underrated nowadays.

The critics seemed to have no clue about the heep. On some of their early albums the sleeves had quotes from these very critics. One that sticks out in my mind was one that went..........If this band makes it I'll eat my hat...........What a fool, still wondering if he ate his hat.
Even tho they were a commercial success I'm still surprised how many people have never heard of them

I think cause some people think some kind of stereotype - asked about bands from 70s (almost) all of them stick to obvious choices like Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin - as those bands were the biggest acts in the past for sure... And they skip less known (but still brilliant) bands like Uriah Heep or Grand Funk Railroad considering them as just copying others - those BIG bands let's say...

i think the uriah heep are one of the most originals band of the 70's, and very underrated nowadays! other that are undertated is Budgie!
