• Woody's A Girl - feature album #2

    Fev 1 2012, 3h59 por earthcrossing

The second Woody's A Girl feature album of 2012 is She Hates You, which contains more of my earliest recordings. The tracklist for the album is as follows (with featured songs denoted by an *):

    1. Comes To Me 3:31 (6)
    2. Assassin/Flawless 2:39 (7)
    3. Amy 2:24 (6)
    4. Back Flip* 2:43 (6)
    5. Judgement Line* 2:59 (5)
    6. Osity 2:14 (4)
    7. I Need Sleep* 2:05 (9)
    8. Diamond* 1:58 (4)
    9. Eh Donatello 3:08 (3)
    10. Red* 3:52 (12)
    11. Run Like A Man (Edit)* 3:53 (8)
    12. Amy (Slow) 2:53 (3)
    13. Play 2:19 (1)
    14. Comes To Me (2009)

There are some songs I'm quite fond of on this one, and overall it's more of a winner (for me) than its predecessor, Sour. I'd say it's half autobiographical and half fiction.

    PLEASE VISIT!!!

    Another "Greatest Story Ever Told?"

Confessions of a Lunatic Pope is the memoir series of Timothy Bowen, a Pope of Discordianism and High Priest and Ordained Minister of The Church of the Subgenius, author of two poetry collections, and the Discordian Holy Books Voices of Chaos and Jonesboria Discordia, and former front-man for numerous and infamous local bands in the Jonesboro, Arkansas area.

So far, there is already a soundtrack album available, and the first book volume is just about finished.

Do not be fooled into thinking this is your average memoir series. Not only does this experimental book series have one soundtrack so far, but it also utilizes a hyper-modern writing process that allows for immediate feedback, in that each section of the book is posted live on this blog as it's written.

    The Divine Impact

This campaign is to help get full distribution for the book Confessions of a Lunatic Pope Volume 1: Soft Spoken Changes Nothing. It will be available in all major stores and online booksellers, as well as be available to public libraries. Seriously, you'll be able to request this book at your local library!! This will help spread the world about alternate religion, Discordianism, Subgeniusism, and my overall awesomeness to a world that may finally be ready for such great things!!

  • Woody's A Girl - feature album #1

    Jan 4 2012, 2h32 por earthcrossing

I've decided that I'm going to feature a particular album on the Woody's A Girl page for each month of 2012. I'm starting with Sour, which contains some of my earliest written songs/recordings. It doesn't have many of my personal faves, but it does have the odd highlight.

Tracklist is as follows, with a * denoting featured tracks for the month:

    1. Happiness (Demo) 2:39 (3)
    2. Shitty Pasta (Demo) 4:04 (1)
    3. Here We Stand* 2:42 (5)
    4. Stupid* 2:47 (2)
    5. Good Mourning Song* 2:31 (5)
    6. Fun At Home (Demo) 2:20 (1)
    7. My Apology* 2:39 (9)
    8. Burn This Need* 2:31 (12)
    9. Debutantes* 1:54 (11)
    10. Instrumental (End The Story) 2:33 (2)
    11. Here We Stand (Demo) 3:09 (3)
    12. Stupid (Demo) 2:47 (2)

I've also decided (tentatively) that I won't be publishing any new music to Last.fm during 2012. I will be writing a lot of it, and recording too, but the only new material anyone will see is on YouTube (videos for existing songs, which I will link to from my Last.fm page). My plan for 2012 music-wise is to write and record a new song per week. This will give me 52 new songs by year's end. In a word, yikes! But also, ooooh. And wheee.

Yes, so while I work on new stuff, which will be housed under the temporary album title of CHRYSALIS (because I'm doing this project as part of The Chrysalis Experiment) I will be featuring old stuff. Fun times!

Questions? Comments? Utterances about how little you care? :)
  • Robots with Fucking Lasers, Man

    Dez 23 2011, 4h19 por olboyfloats

Timothy Bowen, also known as me, is working on a new album.
    Robots with Fucking Lasers, Man

Robots with Fucking Lasers, Man, is a concept album about the interference in communication between The Robots and a humanity that is parallel to our own, but slightly more advanced technologically.
Radio interference is static. Digital interference is pixelated. This interference is something different and more advanced. This is the interference that occurs when The Robots send transmissions to the chips implanted in humans' brains.

The album is not quite done yet.
I still need a few things:

Drawings of robots to use in liner notes
Remixes of the songs I have so far
Instrumental tracks to chop/screw and add voices to
    Moral support

If you can provide any of these things let me know, otherwise, just more listeners would be awesome!

  • Music Video

    Dez 14 2011, 18h15 por CasiniProjekt

Making a music video for the song Citadel of Sorrow off the new album which will be free to download in 2012. Hard work but fun. I wouldn't mind making films for a living, obviously without micro managing executives. I'm in it, acting like a hyperactive nutter, hehe, and I'm doing the compositing and VFX/CG for it. Its not a seriously CG heavy thing, just a few stills spliced in with footage in conjunction with some colour grading.

The shoots are interesting in the respect that they usually take place early in the morning in the freezing cold every day.

The video itself will have an industrial/urban kind of setting in addition to an Oligarch who has unlimited power. It may also feature a robed evil monk type figure as well as shots of war/catastrophe/doom etc, as this is what the song is about more or less, a kind of global apocalyptic scenario fuelled by the greed and ambitions of the world's elite classes and the inability of people to alter the course as societies walk down the path towards nuclear war due to economic stagnation. Its also about how the best laid plans, even with huge resources at one's disposal are ultimately at the mercy of random unanticipated events which can derail them. Its a song which against the idea of concentrated power and the distortion of law to serve individual interests at the expense of the public.

  • Remembering Freddie and George

    Dez 4 2011, 16h00 por TheHomeGuard

Anyone who knows anything about The Home Guard knows just how high Queen and The Beatles are up our influence list. In the last couple of weeks, we've seen the 20th anniversary of Freddie Mercury's death and the 10th of George Harrison's passing. So, what better time to commemorate two of our all-time musical heroes?

First, we recorded a cover of Nevermore, an obscure album track from 1974's Queen II. Our version can be found here if you'd like to add it to your library, or you could just watch the vid:

Then we released our version of I Want to Tell You, one of George's tracks on Revolver. Again, our cover can be found here, or more conveniently here:

As you can tell, we've taken a few liberties with the instrumentation of both, but hopefully you like them all the same.
