Hi. I could hardly believe there were no Last.FM groups to honour The Flying Burrito Brothers, Chris Hillman or Roger McGuinn. So I didn’t hesitate to create them ;-) Feel free to join and show your respect for those guys. Thanks. http://www.last.fm/group/Chris+Hillman http://www.last.fm/group/Roger+McGuinn http://www.last.fm/group/The+Flying+Burrito+Brothers

What about bands you can tell by their names they are obviously influenced by Gram?

I can't remember who said it, but someone, on being played some modern commercial said "i don't know what country that's from." kinda sums it up for me.

My favorite line about modern "country" is by Tom Petty: "Country these days is bad rock with fiddle" So incredibly true. Don't know what this group is actually about, but it was linked to the Zevon group I was apart of and the name is from my favorite song of all time, so I am down.

Hey! Newbie here. Been listening to y'all's radio station- someone here has Triumph in their library! Great to know you're not pigeonholers... ☺.

Hi there! New member - - - I like both kinds of music, someone said: good and bad. Then what they call Modern Country is "no music". Don't rock it if you can swing it. So far.

Our newest member, Eliza, has created a wonderful tribute to Warren Zevon. I know many of you are, like me, big fans of Warren's and I thought you would like it: http://www.last.fm/user/thefuturist88/journal/2008/09/08/25khbl_09072008_tribute_to_warren_zevon

Rick, my all-time favorite episode of ACL is a guitar pull like the one you're talking about featuring Guy Clark, Joe Ely, Rodney Crowell, Keith Sykes and Jerry Jeff Walker. It must have been around 1984. It was amazing! It's great watching these great songwriters sitting around just talking and playing their songs.

Hello everybody. Thanks for the invite Randy. I just watched PBS Austin City Limits - Songwriters Special: Lyle Lovett, Guy Clark, Joe Ely and John Hiatt. Great show, very comfortable set. Four genre - crossing song writing legends join forces to provide a glimpse of the best American folk, country and rock music.. Guy Clark, Joe Ely, Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt have each performed on Austin City Limits before but this is the first time the quartet has teamed up for a free- form songwriters round table for the show.. It really was some good stuff. Peace out for now.
