  Well i come from Latvia and as far as i know we got only couple of bands playing gothic metal.... but they haven released any albums yet so...... atleast we got Frailty with Lost Lifeless Light [it's doom tough]

  These bands have keybord, that's all. I don't consider that having keyboard make the band symphonic, or is a band like Dark Tranquillity symphonic metal ? Gothic bands and symphonic bands make a different use of the keyboard, so i don't think Epica is a gothic metal band.

  Furretsu is right. The new Within Temptation is symphonic metal...but I DO think Epica are symphonic gothic metal...ok, thats not "pure" gothic metal...but most gothic metal has symphonic elements (Via Mistica, Forever Slave, Krypteria, Flowing Tears, Lacuaa Coil)

  Only WT's first album was gothic metal, and I'm only saying that because all of those bands are often cited (incorrectly) as gothic metal, when that's just not the case. I don't particularly dislike any of them, though, except Nightwish.
