  I'm changing the system! It's been getting too labor-intensive to go deep into the charts looking for the most popular unconnected artist(s), and since last.fm now has the nifty feature of "top artists unique to this group," I'm using that to make the connections, starting this week. Artists on that list who are not connected will be connected and tagged to stream on Artist Radio, and when the connections reach 200, the oldest connections (except myself, since it's after all the Tim Doyle fanclub), will be deleted to make room... if they pop up again on the list, they will of course be reconnected. Since there's no limit on how many artists can be tagged to stream on the radio, those disconnected will remain tagged and the radio will continue to grow...

  Finally we're caught up to this week, 12/21: one artist, Mike Oldfield; three albums, Daniel Toplak - Calling You, Dido - Life for Rent, and Rodrigo Rodriguez - Inner Thoughts; no tracks (only one track had the minimum listeners (3), and that was already tagged).

  I had to delete the note on 11/9 albums and tracks, since I was somehow using the 12/14 results instead. The correct list is this: Two albums (humeka - Discuss & Zeropage - Ambient Pills) and one track {Adrian Carter - Don't (Laptop Mix) (with Kate Vale)}.

  It's all about Jukeen in the 12/14 charts: the only connected and tagged artist, with the only tagged album, Solastalgia on which are all six tagged tracks ... Choice feat. Hvoya, Solastalgia, Weightless Path, Black Swan, Sheltering Sky, and Driftwood.

  Connected and tagged based on 11/30 charts is Mahavishnu Orchestra, whose album The Inner Mounting Flame was the only album tagged. (An album that still blows me away, by the way!) One track from that album, Vital Transformation was also tagged, along with two from Facial Vision, Kava Java (Kamikaze Remix) & i...a...i...a...e...u...e...u...o...u...o...u...a...a...a...a...., and four other tracks: Einstürzende Neubauten - Ich warte, Eric Dolphy - Out to Lunch, Stars of the Lid - Don't Bother They're Here, and Deaf Center - Lobby.

  Things settle down a bit with 11/16 charts. Artists newly connected & tagged are Johann Sebastian Bach and The Clash. The only album tagged is John Cage's Sonatas & Interludes for Prepared Piano. The only track tagged is Deepspace's Arctic Sun and Weather Experiment.

  Connected an unprecedented 30 artists based on 11/9 charts... the top 23 were already connected, and the next tier (4 plays) consisted of 48 artists, of whom only 18 were connected. Rahter than list them all here... If you look in Connections (or in the tag timdoyle), it's all the artists from Cannonball Adderley thru Eric Dolphy, inclusive. Next up: 11/9 albums and artists. I'm gradually catching up here!
