  • Pantera's early material is glam/power. Their later stuff is groove, even though they essentially just ripped off Exhorders sound.

    As stated above though, they suck. I fucking hate people who bum off Dimebig (R.I.P) LOL. I mean, come on, it was 5 years ago for fucks sake.

    If you're in for lulz, look at the thrash metal discussion page on wikipedia, they have about 7 topics arguing about why they aren't thrash;

  • Pantera doesn't suck. YES, they aren't thrash, but as a fan of both styles (thrash and groove) I would say Pantera is good band.

  • Because they recorder so classic albums like Metal Megic, Projects in the Jungle, Power Metal and after change of their style they don't include to this in own discography? They recorded all this good stuff (i know that not every fan will like these albums), but cutting it off from discography is just poser act of shittism.

    fuck the haters, pantera's just plain good, not at all over rated, but they are metal plain and simple

    Pantera is by all means a Groove Metal band. There are some questionable tracks on CFH like Clash with Reality but for the most part Pantera is a Groove Metal band (or at least they were in the 90's).

  • If anyone is of the opinion that Pantera suck... Just look how much they influenced the sound of our modern metal music. Besides Dimebag was one of the best metal guitarists out there and also influenced lots of guitar players... He was able to play with a lot of feeling to every note and revoluted the metal guitar. Dime and Vinnie grooved as hard as no other before.
    Okay, I have to agree that Phil is/was a hilarious poser sometimes... But hey, he's a damn good singer.

    And no, I would not say Pantera are thrash. Pantera are groove/post-thrash, like lots of others posted before me.

    Wise words man, I'm sick of hearing/reading that Pantera invented Groove. Exhorder was kicking ass when Pantera was STILL a Glam Metal band.
