  • Murder and Disco at Hallucinatory Mountain

    Set 26 2009, 14h49 por sirjelind

Tue 22 Sep – Il canto del vuoto tagliente I

This fully enjoyable performance of Current 93 represented in Torino at Teatro Alfieri by David Tibet, James Blackshaw, Baby Dee, Alex Neilson, Andrew Liles and keith wood is difficult to record to a grandmother like I am. I did not understand it all for sure but of course perceived like an art ever. The performance called "Aleph at Hallucinatory Mountain" is not just a set of songs. It is a theatre play on David Tibet's philosophy and probably not reachable by me. But, as Tibet was accompanied by many talented instrumentalists, the message was passed even to me. What was the message? I think if I am not wrong, it was about balance between the dream, mission and actual behaviour. At the end when a story may be turned into something else you could still be satisfied with the result as such. OK, I should not talk about what I did not probably unerstand. I would better say that the very beginning of the performane or for the warming-up it was extremely nice to listen to James Blackshaw's solo. It was too short, only two songs. At the very end, with the last song of Current 93, a very nice dancing act by a local dancer completed the show.

One day Socrates was having his walk up in Acropolis (ancient Athens - Greece), and he run into a friend..

His friend announced that he had found out something very important and wanted to let him know.. Something about one of Socrates students..

Socrates smiled and told him that before listening what his friend had to say, he wanted to perform the triple analysis test..

    - "Triple analysis test?" asked his friend

    - "Yes, before telling me what you have heard about my student i would like to sit for a second and filter this thing that you wanna tell me..

The first filter is the "truth filter"..

Are you positive that what you are about to tell me is true, a fact ?"

    - "Er.. Not exactly, but i heard this guy saying it and..."

    - "I see", said Socrates, "So you have no idea if the thing you wanna tell me is actually the truth or a lie..

So, lets try the second filter, its the filter of Kindness, of well being..

What you are about to tell me about my student, is it something good, something nice? "

    - "Good, nice.. ? Hm.. No, i would say its exactly the opposite i guess..."

    - "So", Socrates continues, "you wanna tell me something bad about my student and you're not sure if its true".

The guy lowered his head inconveniently with shame..

    - "Despite all these", said Socrates, "you can still pass the test cause a third filter also exists. The filter of usefullness..

This thing you want to tell me about my student, is it something that i will find useful?"

    - "..no, i dont think so..."

    - "So, if i get this whole thing straight, this thing you wanna tell me is not true, is neither good nor useful.. So why the fuck should i have to listen to it?"

The guy left after getting a good lesson..

The above incident shows why Socrates was such a great man and an excellent philosopher and was highly respected..

The above incident also explains why Socrates had never found out that Plato was fucking his wife..

  • Modern Love in Cirkus

    Mar 1 2009, 22h14 por sirjelind

Tue 24 Feb – Bloc Party, Delphic

The show in Cirkus, Stockholm was rather "bold" starting from a very modern support act by Delphic and followed by an intensive and interactive performance by Bloc Party.

Audience in Cirkus was extremely active and supportive too which probably gave even more energy to the band. Not only Kele but all other band members made this show. The drummer Matt performed even a short dance act like a swan. In the final part of the show, Kele weared a red jacket of the Cirkus security personnel that he found in backstage, very nice actually. He moved around a lot so that the stage support had to run and hold the cable of his micro like a king's schlep.

After this concert, I like Bloc Party much more than before. My favourite song is TocarThis Modern Love from the first album Silent Alarm. The next albums A Weekend In The City and Intimacy show a kind of evolution, which I welcome.
