Greetings. I switched over to Mac about a yr ago. Best decision I ever made computer-wise, or generally for that matter. The best thing about macs is the way they switch on and off instantly, non of the whirring and warming up that has to occur when switching on a PC. And time is of the essence . . .

Actually, BBB, I've found the opposite and in the absence of any reply here, I've got some techie guy coming tomorrow to put in Norton. He did say that Norton used to do that, but now it's so improved that they now will recommend it. I had McAfee before and it was so power hungry that it slowed everything on my computer down, so I had to get rid of it. I also used to have your recommended AVG and when a hacker tried to take over my computer, remotely, it just fell down. It was totally useless and I had to watch powerless as my mouse was taken over by someone else, god knows who. Finally, I got the presence of mind to leap up and turn my computer off at the mains, but by then an immense amount of damage had been down and there were trojans everywhere.

I know this is probably tantamount to blaspheming in here but can anyone offer me any advice on anti-virus protection for my PC. Yes, that's right ... sorry... I still have a PC. My anti-virus runs out tomorrow and seeing as this one screws up my iTunes tracks when my Last FM Scrobbler is on, I need another one that doesn't do that, but still does a good job. Any suggestions?

OI!!! I read that anti-prog remark!!! :)))) actually Roy I moved my entire library from a PC hard drive to Mac - and pretty much seamless where Itunes was concerned :))) In fact the Mac seems to love Prog more than a windows PC..........

OK, Skies. Just tell me on thing I can do better on a Mac than on a PC?

Well, it's just gathering dust, really. I just want to confirm one thing - this is a Prog Free Zone, isn't it? And playing Neil Diamond is a hangable offence in these parts?

Hello! Newby to the group! I just joined because I love the name of the group and also am very fond of many of its members. Can't stand Macs, though. I have a Notebook that I never use, unless I have to. I love my PC....maybe I should start a "I love my PC" group ........:-))))
