It's hard, and apart from Do The Evolution witch is a masterpiece i have to share my experience with this:

I think the fact that Love Boat Captain can evoke the same feelings they were inspiring in people ten years previously is testament enough to Vedder's lyrical ability.

"Lost nine friends we'll never know, two years ago today".

Chokes me up.

Honourable mention to the oft underrated Sleight of Hand too... It's better than Footsteps as a storytelling song, imo...

How about Temple Of The Dog - Call Me A Dog

Well that's fair enough

And the way Chris sings it is phenomenal :)

I also love Reach Down from that album, its such a beautiful description of Andy Wood.

And so many of the best grunge songs are about addictions and losing friends which are both topics that are very close to my heart.

It's impossible to pick a best lyric from Seattle, so many of them mean so many different things to me.

Recently I had a dark period in my life, weverything went wrong and so on. I thought about sucide, but somehow this song helped me listening to it just made me understand that Im not the only one that has problems, so I started to write some lame poetry. Yeah this song and all dirt album has had some great influence on me.

Only thing to fear is F.E.A.R. the game it self :)
