I spent a year and a half from 2011 to 2013 traveling across America in an old RV, playing over 250 shows in 37 states. I named the tour "Drivin' & Dreaming."
During the tour I met amazingly wonderful, weird and inspiring people, and I got to see and experience every corner of the US. This book and live CD are the product of all the stories, pictures and recordings from the "Drivin' & Dreaming" tour that I collected along the way.
This project is a way for me to be able to share this wonderful adventure with you, we will relive it together, like you were with me on tour!
You know that dream that you carry deep inside of you. The one you secretly hope one day will come true, but there are so many obstacles and you don't know if you have the courage to take the leap? I had a dream like that. It was the dream of touring the United States, playing my music in every little town I could find and doing it my own way, grassroots style.
I finally took that leap. I fulfilled my dream.
In November 2011, with two months of shows booked, I left my life in Sweden and bought a one-way ticket to America. Starting out in Florida, I bought an old RV from '94 that my husband and I spent two weeks renovating. It became our home for over a year and took us from state to state and town to town, as we kept booking and playing our way through the country.
I made this tour documentary consisting of ten episodes in the beginning of the tour. Check out the first episode here.
Details about the book:
The final product will be a gorgeously-packaged, true limited edition book, numbered and personally signed.
The book is in coffee table format with beautiful pictures. You will be able to open the book to any page and just start reading. You'll get to experience the life on the road, breakdowns, the wonderful people that came to our rescue, weird gigs, breathtaking places and smiling faces. The book also contains a collection of my favorite recipes that we cooked in the RV.
The only way to get your hands on one of these treasures is to support the project. The book will be printed in a limited numbered edition and will not be for sale in any store after the project is completed.
About the live album:
We recorded almost all of the 250+ shows on the tour and have chosen the best of the best to be featured on this live album. If you weren't able to make it to any of the concerts, here's your chance to experience it, just like you were there in the room with me.
All the recordings on the live album were recorded with room microphones and direct sound from the board. The final product will be a high-quality live album mixed and mastered from these source recordings.
How do we make this all happen?
I made a calculation for the budget that includes writing, designing and printing the book, mixing and mastering of the live recordings, CD manufacturing, shipping, art prints and other items and we will need. We need to raise just $3000. When we reach this goal, the project can be produced, as well as some special goodies and rewards for supporters who want to contribute even more. If we don't reach the goal, then nobody will have to pay anything and the project will not happen.
It's true, I'm absolutely thrilled to start working on this project, but it's really about all of you guys. All the people who followed my tour on Facebook and my website. All the people that came to my shows. All the people who sent me cookies and invited me to their homes. All of you who made this tour an unforgettable adventure. So if you support this project, don't do it for me. Do it for you!
Keep in mind, you have absolutely nothing to lose if you pledge and we don't reach our goal. But if we do succeed, you know that this project will be an incredible and rewarding end to a great adventure and tour.

2011 was a busy year for me. I worked hard to get an artist visa to the US, preparing for a tour that might go on for as long as two years. At the same time I wrote and recorded a new album. Now that I’ve landed in my tour in the US it’s also time for my new album to land. "The Owls Are Not What They Seem" is a collection of 12 new songs.
My musical journey started out in 2004 when I recorded Blue Moon and me and my musicians all gathered in a basement studio in Stockholm recording acoustically and almost all the instruments at the same time. After that I tried a more common way of recording in layers, adding instruments upon instruments. For my third album I hired a producer, Tobias Fröberg and for my fourth album Florida i experimented with a bigger soundscape with more drums than I had ever used before.
For "The Owls Are Not What They Seem" I went back to basics. After having done an acoustic solo tour for my album Florida Acoustic in 2010 I felt I was in my best element when I was playing and singing at the same time without the restrains of headphones and click-tracks. So I decided to make an ablum that was the essence of that me. Just something I could record in my bedroom without the pressure of a big production, time and opinions from others.
All the songs on "The Owls Are Not What They Seem" are recorded that way. Me - playing and singing at the same time, then sparsely adding other instruments to enhance and highlight where I thought it was needed. My goal was to keep it down and make an acoustic album with a live, organic feel to it. I had no interest in changing the world or inventing something new. I just wanted to make a beautiful acoustic album.
Hi friend, this is a humble request so please bear with me.
I’m soon going to release“E - Part Four of L.O.V.E”, the last EP of an four piece EP saga called L.O.V.E, and I’d be very grateful if you could help me finalize this project. As a thank-you you can download the EP free once it’s completed. It would mean a great deal to me if you would be a part of this musical saga. where you can invest in exclusive items that I have for sale and get the download for free.
By using a fan-funded model to raise the money to release the EP, not only would you be influencing and enabling the release, you would have access to many rare opportunities to own a piece of my musical journey.
“L.O.V.E” consists of four separate EP’s with four tracks each, that will be released every 3 months during 2011. The funding will pay for studio time, producer time, mastering and artwork.
I run my own label Makaki Music, produce everything myself and I’m very hands on with the music and everything around it. All the bundles are endorsed and personally produced. They represent a personal part of me and I want to share that with you.
