I wasn't aware of Oneirology. Thanks for bringing this up.

So far this year is rather weak.

New Fleet Foxes was a let down. Same story with Motörhead. The King of Limbs is strange but I enjoyed it.

I have high hopes for Bon Iver.

I wish N3cro was around to discuss metal releases. I've hear good thing about new Benighted.

Did anyone know there was a new Feelies album and has anyone heard it?

  • I enjoyed Here Before. It didn't make much of an impression otherwise. I need to listen to it again though.

    OK, thanks.

  • J Mascis and Thurston's acoustic albums were alright, but ultimately unmemorable But they were still the best I've heard this year. I also have listened to albums by Funeral Party, The Strokes, Kurt Vile, and Radiohead. The Kurt Vile record was hyped by Pitchfork and some other review sites but I can't really see why.

Looking forward to the new Stephen Malkmus album in August though.

Listened to a bit of Herman Dune's new one. Their sound is getting more and more shiny and flat.

Just realised I was unknowingly echoing Tilaton in the shoutbox.

(The world is going to shit.)

I've heard good things about the James Blake album... and then I heard the James Blake album. Not so good. Next on my overhyped queue: tUnE-yArDs

  • Tyler, the Creator's Goblin was pretty bad. First two songs were really cool, then it just went downhill, fast. They need Earl Sweatshirt, badly.

    oh word

New Manilla Road is coming this year.

    So is new Nile.

Oneirology was a let down. I didn't go through the whole thing but it wasn't as good as it suppose to be.

Both were miserably bad, I thought.

  • Some of my favourite songs this year:

Thoughts on 2011 albums? A few of these definitely grew on me. Especially Warpaint, which may have came out in 2010. Still. Discuss amongst yourselves. I'm a little verklempt... (I hope someone gets that reference)

  • Anyway, the Matana Roberts album Coin Coin Chapter One is the best 2011 album I've heard so far. Really phenomenal mixture of free jazz and pre-composition. One of the best concept albums I've heard in a while.

Every day for the past week I've thought, "I should listen to Warpaint again." I still haven't. I've gotta get on that as soon as I finish forcing myself to try to like Friday Night Lights.

That was then, this is dumb.

I think you'd like Warpaint. My roommate was raving about them ~ 8 months ago. You also might like Pack AD.

  • Yeah I do like Warpaint, I just forgot about them for a while. I'll have to check out Pack AD.

I'm about to lose like a month and a half's worth of ipod plays because nothing's showing up even though lastpod appears to be scrobbling an I'm pissed. I mean, on my ipod I listened to things that weren't Lana del Rey! Alternatively, I'm going to log on tomorrow to find that all 1300 tracks from this ipod scrobbled three times.

That was then, this is dumb.
