• Dom DeLuise.

This video is extremely funny when drunk or stoned. At all other times it serves as a wholly inappropriate tribute.

It was sufficiently hilarious without drugs.

Two great things about this movie's wikipedia page:

    * It's an Italian-made movie also known as "Il Silenzio dei Prosciutti".
    * The plot summary: "All of this takes the cast on many adventures at the Cemetery Motel until the finale, in which many questions are answered, including questions no one would ask."

  • I'm not going to link to it, as it made me feel evil, but there's a video on youtube of Tommy Cooper dying on stage while the audience laughs along, oblivious. Eeeee.

    Sorry Tommy Cooper.

  • jeez, that is eerie .

  • Jay Bennett formerly of Wilco. If you've never seen I Am Trying to Break Your Heart, it's pretty interesting. He comes off like a complete nutcase.

    Chicago Tribune's Obit

    Diabeetus
  • David Carradine. That's a strange one.

I think it's good that he went of mysterious causes in Bangkok. If he had to go, I think he would have liked that headline.

  • Herm, except it's looking suspiciously like he's pulled a Michael Hutchence i.e. 'wanky misadventure.' Nobody wants to be remembered like that.

  • autoerotic asphyxiation!

I don't see the fun in it meself.

Schoolyard legend had it that people broke their necks trying to stand on their heads and, you know, pleasure themselves orally. No one broke their necks by joining a dating website, is all I'm saying.

Supposedly it is a remedy for impotence. People that get hanged for execution were often noted of having boners when they died. I'd believe something like that, the guy was over 70.

  • It's just another way of getting off, I don't think there's any face that can be salvaged for David Carradine over this one. At least he didn't have an orange in his mouth.

Well, it's just a theory I have. I read the impotence thing on Wikipedia.

Soft Machine basists Hugh Hopper died.

  • Oh that sucks, he kicked so much ass on the first album.

Edit: He only played on one song on the first album, Kevin Ayers played on the rest. But still, it's a bummer.

    oh word

And he was primary bassist on 3 through 6, as well as a long and respectable solo career. The man was prog through & through, fwiw.

What was almost comical was that his family for a few days was keeping it all in the news by insisting on hiring pathologists & investigators to look into foul play--vociferously claiming that David C would not commit suicide.

And most of us males over the age of 7 were like--no, dude, he definitely did NOT commit suicide! He was seeking the the "elusive butterfly of love."

One friend texted me: "much too violent a fetish, couldn't he have found just about anything else in Bangkok?"

Yeah, pretty much anything AND everything else in Bangkok.
