We did our last mixtape thing in the middle of last year - were you around for that tromb? It died a death when people stopped listening/voting, but I think we agreed we'd start it up again at some point.

Yeah, I join in the midst of that whole thing, and actually made one right at the end. I think three people listened to it. Hopefully they learnt something. I wasn't necessarily vouching for a competition, either. I was more thinking that people may want to just make mixtapes for the rest of the group, and a thread for that would be cool. Kind of like our own muxtape. We could post the track listing and maybe a brief synopsis on the mix, and then those interested could ask for a link. That way we're not post mediafire links all over the place.

Really I just wanna share music with you wonderful people, and want you guys to demand that I listen to some mix every once in a while.

Something tells me that there's a new thread about mixes now and I'm so behind in the times. Harrumph.

Get a better internet service provider.

Barring that, take up a serious interest in collecting FLAC rips of jam band bootlegs.

My ratio on Waffle.fm is almost entirely thanks to my downloading every Grateful Dead live set that exists during a free leech.

I'm also a big fan of downloading one FLAC track of a newly posted jam band live recording. Seeding that usually helps quite a bit. Make sure your ports are forwarded and keep all torrents open during a free leech period (I usually can get 8-15 gb).

  • i'm really bad at thinking of songs when i need to. what songs subtly (or even not so subtly) suggest "i want you"?

the best i've come up with is "if i were your woman" by gladys knight and the pips

    i need more.

  • I'm sure this is not what you're looking for at all, but these four immediately came to mind for obvious reasons:

Bob Dylan - I Want You
The Beatles - I Want You (She's So Heavy)
    Wumpscut - Ich Will Dich
The Zombies - I Want Her She Wants Me

  • With Whom To Dance?, dammit!

  • I want you to Want You to Want Me by Cheap Trick is an obvious one.
    and
Ultimate Stars (LP Version) - Saturday Looks Good to Me

    Also,
If you want something more obscure and sophisticated:
Even If My Mind Can Tell You - The Montgolfier Brothers

  • I Knew I'd Want You - The Byrds
I Want You Right Now - The MC5
I Want You in My Life - R. Stevie Moore
All I Want is You - Roxy Music

    oh word
  • Teenage Fanclub - What You Do to Me
    Blueboy - Always There
Buddy Holly - You Are My One Desire

  • Ultimate Stars is a great great song.

    Diabeetus
  • The Colourfield - Thinking of You
Trash Can Sinatras - How Can I Apply...?
